At the check in there was nobody who spoke english, but during the evening the son of the owner arrived to translate for us. The onsen are lovely.

This was a wonderful, family run ryokan. It is not a party place, but was instead very peaceful and relaxing. There was private onsen that could be used by anyone at any time. The only downside was that the shower was not in the bathroom but outside with the onsen. Since we had a hot-tub every night then showered right after, this did not really pose a problem. Wonderful place! I would stay there again and highly recommend it to anyone going to Yudanaka.
