Beautiful, ancient traditional Japanese house, well-maintained and furnished. 5mins walk to JR Nara, 15mins to Kintetsu. Other attractions are 20mins cycle away.

The hostel was a very nice place to rest after a day of traveling and the owner was very friendly. It had a distinct Japanese feel and affordable, delicious breakfast is available in the morning too. The shower room was nice too and had one of the tallest showers I've ever seen- so no problem for those of you who traditionally don't fit into Japanese-sized places.

Nice house as Japanese traditional. It's feeling like when I stay my friends house. Beds have each curtain which keeps our private space in dorm. and it's very helpful. Clean enough, free coffee, tea... these services help us too.

A great place to stay in Nara, with a very helpful and friendly owner who speaks excellent English and is always willing to help his guests. The only negative is that the room sleeps 8 people and things get very tight since the beds are very close together.

Great common room. Very nice that we could buy snacks and drinks there as well at a reasonable cost. Fantastic location.

Enjoyed our stay. Both the major sights and the JR station are in short walking distance. We especially enojyed the cozy common room.

+ We loved the indoor shoes provided!!! Friendly staff, good location, cozy guesthouse, free wifi, free coffee and tea, cozy common room. Quite a few Japanese people staying here. - A little cold but there was a heater in the common room and the blankets for the dorms were super warm(and fluffy), no stove in the kitchen

Yuzan is a lovely backpackers/guesthouse in Nara. Loved the traditional style decor and really appreciated the curtains around the bunks. Very helpful staff with good English (great for people like me with bad Japanese!!!) Would definitely stay there again and recommend it for anyone passing through Nara.

Great little guesthouse situated only a few minutes' walk from Nara Station. The staff was very friendly and extremely helpful. It took us a little while to find it, however. The directions should say "behind the Mini Stop" instead of "right next to it."

The owner was very friendly, helpful and welcoming. He went out of his way to make sure I was happy and warm. The lodge was comfortable and cozy. I would definitely stay there again! Thank you for having me.

Fit my image for what a Japanese house should be. Tatami mats, sliding doors, and all that. Little out of the way from the sites, but still easy to walk to. Overall a good place, would go back if I'm in Nara again.
