ZIP112 was clean and comfortable. Young gave us our keys and the "house rules" which were reasonable and easily do able. The view from the deck was beautiful (which could be enjoyed in full in warmer weather) We felt safe and had easy access to local shopping and dining. I will be happy to recommend AIP112 to anyone who's looking for a calm, clean and safe place to stay when in NYC. Just know your subway routes and you're set.

Great location in the middle of Williamsburgh and just a few subway stops from Manhattan. Lots of bars and restaurants around the hostel. The only bad thing is that the building doesn't have any elevators and the hostel is in the 5th floor, but the hostel itself is good! very clean, a big kitchen, good rooms and a great view of Manhattan's skyline

This is not really a hostel, it's a bit more like an apartment, but this really suited us over christmas. the location is really excellent in brooklyn near bedford avenue. there is good food and a subway station very nearby. there are only two bathrooms and the shower is in the same room as the toilet so that can mean that there is a bit of a wait for a shower, but nothing too dramatic. overall, made our stay in new york really enjoyable.

Very good and comfortable place to stay, but not a hostel. the free breakfast is actually cheerios, but that's ok, there are supermarkets nearby to buy other things. location couldn't be better, near a train station and bedford avenue. Young was also really helpful for finding laundry and local food etc.

The hostel is great, really clean and safe. very quiet - definately not a party hostel. Perfect location for getting in and out to Manhattan or exploring Brooklyn.

More like a sharehouse than a hostel, only 10 beds but made it feel like you were living in an apartment which was AWESOME. Fully equipped kitchen, great wi-fi, very clean ... the manager (who was LOVELY and very helpful) doesn't stay there all the time, but he did have quite a few rules - it meant the place was peaceful and clean, but if he was there you felt a bit like you were at your parents' place! Great location & neighbourhood, great value for $. Will definitely stay again!

As other reviews have noted, staying at ZIP112 is like staying in a shared apartment, rather than a hostel. It has a great atmosphere, and is only a minute walk from the main street in Williamsburg, as well as the subway which takes you to Manhattan in 5-10 minutes. While there are five or six flights of stairs to walk up, the manager will help you with your luggage so there's no need to worry. The view from the balcony is amazing and I felt very safe leaving my luggage in the hostel everyday.

This is seriously the best place I have ever stayed in the US! It does not feel like staying in a hostel but rather like living in a shared appartment. It is clean, the atmosphere is great, the view from the terrase is amazing and Young, the guy who runs the place, is so nice and helpful. I love it and certainly come bck to this place!

Fantastic location, easily accessible by subway and in a safe area...only problem was climbing the 5 flights of stairs with a heavy bag (but the subways don't have escalators/elevators either!)

This was one of my best experiences. The hostel is really clean and small. Like having your own place at brooklyn. The neighborhood is hippie chic, really nice and safe. The owner was friendly. From the terasse you can see all Manhattan in front of you. Just fantastic! Loved it and would definetly recomend it for girls that want a safe and quiet place to stay in. Manhattan is just one metro stop away and the metro is close by the hostel.

This hostel is ideally located for easy access to Manhatten and there is a wide offering of restaurants, bars and cafes locally in Williamsburg. The place is more like an appartment with an excellent roof terrace. It is very quiet so not necessarily a place to meet other travellers but if you're looking for a quiet retreat from the bustling city this is perfect. Would most likely stay again.

This hostel was great, one of the best I've stayed in. It doesn't have too many beds, but makes it feel more of a share house atmosphere. The location was fantastic also!

Loved my stay at ZIP112, more like a shared apartment than a hostel I felt at home the minute I walked through the door. Although the owner was only there during the mornings or when people were arriving he was very helpful and was able to give great tips and info on the area including transport, tourist ideas and where to buy groceries or find the best coffee! Having only 4 in a room was a good number to share with but with a total of 10 and 2 bathrooms there was a bit of a wait some mornings.

It amazed me that this hostel exists! It is a great location with an awesome view of the NY skyline from the roof area especially at night. Clean comfortable and soooo cheap by NY standards. The area is lovely and felt pretty safe even late at night. There are some stairs up to the hostel but Young will help you with even the heaviest suitcase. More like a shared apartment than a hostel and thoroughly recommended.

Although not in Manhattan, Williamsburg is a great suburb with lots of great shops, cafes, and restaurants - and only 15 minutes away from Manhattan - great place.
