For the price we paid, we think this place is great! There are only 2 hostel rooms each with 4 beds. There are 2 bathrooms so the ratio of sharing is 4:1 which is great especially when they are not full. The room has a nice balcony with plants. The rest of the Zak Residence offers hotel rooms. In short, we got to enjoy hotel service for the price of dormitory!! The wifi is fast, the rooftop garden is a luxury for us. We love the cafe as a hangout place. Staff are friendly and helpful.

Great service and great price. WIFI speed was very fast and reliable. Rooftop garden is very beautiful. Room is spacious with a nice balcony. Staff is very friendly and helpful. We booked some tours with them. Location is great too. We stayed in the city before moving here for a different feel of Chiang Mai and we are glad we did. Here, we are literally living among the locals. We get to try their food, drinks and shop - all at local prices and local services. It was an enriching experience.
