Good accomadation for budget tourist. Noisy at night, but so was surrounding areas.. All we needed . Bed and hot shower. Assistance with guided tours helped a lot.

Nice hostel in the middle of Zanzibar. Unfortunately a lot of bed bugs.

it was a lovely hotel. even tho i didn't really enjoy the lack of animals, what i had heard there would have been all sorts of animals, like rats, spiders and mouse, but i saw none! maybe next time.

Not the best place in the world, but can't really expect much when you pay soo little. Our room had window panes missing and in the hot Zanzibar heat it didn't make any difference - neither did the pathetic small ceiling fan. We were on the top floor and the stairs were virtually vertical making it very difficult to climb with a packed out backpack. The location was pretty central, you can walk to the ferry port within 10mins.

The place is right in the middle of town, a short walk from the ferry, and not hard to find through the little alleys of Stone Town. There is a lovely terrace on the top of the building with a great view over the roofs of Stone Town. You can enjoy there your free breakfast, a few meters away and with the same view as the 200$ a night hotel customers.. :) Facilities and rooms are basic, but clean, and considering this is Tanzania, more than acceptable. Simba at the reception is very helpful.

The reception staff struggle with English and are quick to exploit extra funds from you. The rooms are reasonably clean although the Mosquito nets are useless as they do not close. The showers don't work properly, are lime scaled up so the water does not flow properly and when it does, it is cold and some give you an electric shock if you touch them. The staff tried ripping us off with our laundry charging us 10k shillings but did not wash the cloths and then laughed when we challenged them.

good value for money, hostel in one of these old buildings of stone town. be prepared to "climb" steep steps but the view of the city from terrace is really worth it. The showers were not working properly.

A decent place to stay if you are looking to save some money. Was close to the ocean, old fort and seafood market. Had a lovely rooftop terrace overlooking the city where a nice breakfast was served. Basic accommodations but was clean and safe and comfortable. Make sure you are prepared to walk up some steep steps to your room and the rooftop. The shower was not working properly in our bathroom but the bucket was available as an alternative. Overall a pleasant stay.

the staff were really lovely and so helpful, room was comfortable and location was good- although hard to find at first!! Breakfast was good and great views from the roof top restaurant. If I ever go back to Stonetown I will definitely stay here again. Many thanks for looking after us so well.

Basic guesthouse, but very nice lady and a beautiful view from the rooftop where breakfast is served!

The hostel was closed due to riots happening in stone time at that time. We had to move to another place.
