My stay at Zen Hostel was wonderful is perfect and the staff very nice. Scout picked us up and dropped us at the station whenever we needed it. The breakfast is wonderful and so is the place, just by the river!

Had a great stay. The host was really helpful, picked us up from the train and drove us where ever we wanted. He was really friendly and very helpful which was great when the language barrier outside the hostel is huge. Thanks for a really enjoyable stay, if the onsen was hooked up we would still be there. Cheers.

Zen Hostel is definitely aptly named: lost in the woods, surrounded by mountains, a river passing by... The beds are soft and the place is lively; the owner is extremely dedicated, driving everyone around, giving good advice and cooking a wonderful breakfast. I highly recommend this place for those who wish to visit Nikko and the mountains in a zenly way.
