The toilet smells and we asked for a change in room. However this does not solve the problem as the toilet in the other room smeels as badly. I think they have a problem with the sewage system. Overall, the place is fine and quite unique and authentic old chinese charm. Very centrally located; this will be a great place if they fixed the toilets.

We stayed in a gorgeous private double room looking out onto a characterful courtyard lit by lanterns at night. The service was fantastic too - Bob the owner looked after us very well, arranging onward tickets, early check ins, late check outs and transfers to & from the hostel. This gave us even more time to relax within the city walls. Thanks Zhengjia for a fantastic stay!

I really enjoyed staying at the hostel. The manager especially was excellent and made me feel at home.

We appreciated accommodation (incl. heating), meals, helpfulness (incl. train ticket service) and the day trip to Shuanglin Temple + Zhangbi Cun very much.

Nice hostel in a nice building. They arrange trips to the underground castle. Furthermore they have a free pick-up from the trainstation and also brought me back too the station for free.

The worst hostel that we have ever stayed at. The staff could not speak a word of english and they were rude. The room was really dirty, the bathroom was full of hairs and it seemed like it hadnt been cleaned for ages. We had dinner the first night we arrived and the waitress was picking her nose while she was taking our order

The managar was very helpful, he let me borrow his bike to go to the cash point and he organised our bus tickets to Xi'an for no extra cost.

Lost my phone in pingyao, and Bob the owner was kind enough to come with me to the police station to help translate so I could get a form to claim insurance for. The hostel itself is really nice and clean, would definitely recommend it to others!

The staff is nice but speaks very poor english so every need was difficult to share with them. The manager, Bob, speaks good english but only came 5 minutes before our departure to make sure we'll make a good revue. They do not check and answer their emails . The place is always empty so there is no fun. The hostel is nice and clean but the staff lacks of professionalism.

Except that the staff doesn't speak well english I have no complain. Because I didn't gave them my train number or anynews they was not expecting me. So when I finally arrived, my room was not ready. but they've arranged everything quickly. I was in a single room, clean and big. Internet and electricity was not working for a while. In my case it was not a problem but it could be : So use it since it's working ! ( don't wait because tomorow it might not work) Well located. Safe. And lot of people
