I really loved this place! Bob speaks great English and does everything he can to help. The coffee is REALLY good - it's espresso - and the Chinese food is good too. Bike rental, free internet, free pickup, plus the friendliest, most genuinely helpful staff. Extended my stay from 2 nights to 5!I really loved this place! It\'s such a cozy place in Pingyao. Staff are helpful. This hostel had plenty of character and large rooms. Just a warning: staff spoke very little English (maybe because it was off-season?). However, Bob the owner is fluent and was very helpful in addressing our needs. Lastly the "fun" rating is just a guess, as we happened to visit during one of the coldest weeks in recent history and there was very little activity in general. But overall, the place was nice and we would definitely stay there again!This hostel had plenty of character and large rooms. A very small room was given to us for 3 pax.. we need climbing up the bed n down to moving in the room.. But the room is good, just is too small for 3 pax.. Food is nice, but bit expensive as compared to the other restaurant around them.. staff is friendly and helpful.. only 1 hair dryer is available for the whole hostel.. we were the unlucky 1 coz not able to get it the whole stay of 3d2n..A very small room was given to us for 3 pax.. we need climbing up the bed n down to moving in the room.. The girl at the reception is absolutely lovely (she is the one that stays in the hostel section which does not have a kitchen). She definitely gives a soul to the place and make the customers have fun. I`ve stayed in a large, very nice, private room for a cheap price. U can use both guesthouse and hostelfacilities, as the buildings are just 20 yards apart. Pick up services en drop off service were nice extra`s. The downside of the guesthouse was that the staffmembers don`t speak basic English. Bob (the manager) made sure that everything was sorted out very nicely. But it causes minor irritations. Beautiful building and huge beds. Bob was very helpful and the other staff were all friendly if a bit eccentric! Good location, free pick up and drop off and a nice lounge.
