+ : Really clean, welcoming staff, free breakfast - : No locker, kitchen too small

Private twin room is bunk bed (FYI if you are a couple). Toilets together with (vice separate) from Showers - so if shower is in use, that's one less toilet. Kitchen TOTALLY inadequate - one double sink, quad burner, and limited counter-space (with stools for eating in there - BAD idea). Hand towels instead of paper in restrooms (unsanitary).

Owner Comment (Hide)
This is why reviews are helpful, even if they hurt a bit! You are right about the hand towels, we took this review to the owners who have agreed to install paper hand towel dispensers in all the common bathrooms. Stools for eating in the kitchen: This comment is probably because they get in the way when the kitchen is busy, our staff also told us that and they were removed before this review even went live.

the wate supply is a bit weak and the room is a bit old. other than that, the overall performance is good as the cost is low in town centre.

The staff was generally trying to be nice and helpful. However gave me two wrong tips (from total two) and the morning manager was since the first moment he arrived. Otherwise everything was fine. I don't consider it good value for money, because for 30 USD you can have a nice private in Europe. But compared to other places in Sydney it was fine.

Stayed in a 4-bed dorm which had en-suite bathroom. Room decent size. Kitchen very small as was common room. Staff helpful, has laundry facilities and outdoor seating. About 30 minutes from CBD but supermarket and some bars/restaurants nearby. Wifi pretty terrible. All in all an ok stay, pretty standard prices for Oz. Plenty of folk going out but less of a party hostel than some of the others on the same street.

It wasn't the cheapest hostel but was only a short walk to the main touristy things like the harbour bridge etc so cant complain. Came home one evening to find my door open (private room) and I' m pretty OCD with things like that so sure I didnt do it. Nothing missing though.

I had a private room the only windows of which opened to the common area, where people would come to smoke even after 10. Also, the room was really dingy, small and cramped. The staff and location were great though, and probably the place would be ok for party animals and people who smoke anyway.

Our smoke detector was broken, had issues checking out- no one was in reception at 8:30am, the bathrooms were filthy. And there was no breakfast- could even find a clean cup for coffee

When we arrived our room was not cleaned although it was in the middle of the afternoon. We were given a tiny 2 bed room (not too cheap) where it was hard to move with the both of us in it. Plus the room was on the groundfloor and very close to the street, so we could hear everyone coming and going and talking on the phone in front of our window. In the kitchen, there were not even ordinary mugs or something. For breakfast there was no bread and no milk, but cornflakes... Staff was really nice.
