Best hostel staff in Sydney! Always friendly and willing to help! Great little social courtyard, fun tv room, stellar nights out. Fridges in the room is a rare backpacking luxury, and Zing brings all my seasoned backpacking standards to the table.

Room as hot as hell and smelt twice as bad. Worst nights sleep of my life. Didn't bother staying the remaining 2 nights.

It was a good place to stay. A bit noisy during the day but we could rest without problems during the night, and we had a bedroom next to the common place. The room has a little refrigerator and a sink, that it is pretty useful. The staff was really helpful. The onlu problem was that the internet was very slow and expensive. I will stay there again

I had a lovely night staying at Zing in Kings Cross. The staff were friendly, especially Tom the French guy at the front door in the evening. I had an excellent room and thought it was very good value for money. Of course the place is old, but that just added to the character and I expected that, so no complaints from me. The sheets were clean which is the most important thing. I liked how accessible it was to the station, Kings Cross nightlife and even Oxford street wasn't a far walk.

A depressing place, like a Thai prison. I booked a "private room" but it was a seedy, worn den that smelt like someone had died in there. Loud noises galore, easy for anyone to stroll into at any time, creaming money of the endless stream of poor teen kids passing through backpacking.

The only reason to go is the price! Staff is unmotivated, bathrooms are dumps and most of the other guests have nothing in mind but drinking and shouting! Avoid it!

The staff at Zing were so lovely and very helpful. Such a nice chilled atmosphere and they genuinely want you to have a good stay. Many guests stay for a long time as there is a comfortable and familiar feel to the place. Will definitely go back when heading back to Sydney.

Had a great. Really good people. Staff are really helpful and sound. Most live within the hostel. Very clean. Very happy with our stay. Only thing, the wifi needs to be better. Apart from that great hostel

This place was cool, free breakfast, close to city location, fun people. Booked a 6bed dorm and got upgraded to a 4bed free of charge which was a sweet bonus. Staff are cool to talk to, helped me find some cheap places to eat with good nosh. Deffinately hitting up World Bar with these guys again too, such a good laugh on tuesdays.

Wouldn't ever come here again. Our room smelt of excrement, people smoked on our balcony and the staff did nothing to stop them even though I have asthma. My trainers (the only thing we didn't lock up when we went out for the day) were stolen . The kitchen is far too small. The bathrooms are dirty and the beds did not stop squeaking. I guess you get what you pay for but we definitely would not come back. Everyone was miserable and the guy who checked us in kept farting? Hardly professional

The shared bathrooms were clean but our one (for our room) was dirty. It's never been cleaned for ten days and I had to ask three times until they did it.Also with our room.Only the plastic bag for the bag was changed daily. Another problem was the WiFi.There's online one hot spor where you can use it - in a small part if the hallway, next to the dorms. Only two chairs and one table (the other one's broken). Sucks when you want to skype... Anyways, it's a good place meeting other backpackers!

Everything was nice and clean! But the kitchen is very small and there is not much space to pass the people who are checkin in at the reception. The rooms are big and air-conditioned. Nice little TV-Room! But unfortunately no free wifi.

The room was clean but the by the end of the day the bathrooms got a bit gross but they were always cleaned the next morning. It was a bit loud but cleared out by 10pm (hostel policy) so not too bad. Overall, I would recommend it, the cleanliness of the room was what I was most worried about but it was not a problem (I was in a private double).

Well i'm not sure if rating for Zing is right, coz tho I've booked doublebed share-bathroom for 1 night at Zing, i was brought to the Original, and then told to walk around the corner to Sydney Central, which is totally out of my expectation. location is good for ppl w/o car i guess, but we've got one and it's totally a headache to find a free parking space for overnight. no free wi-fi and bathroom is shared by at least 3-4 rooms i think.
