Aletto is new, clean and secure (with security cameras everywhere). It resides conveniently 1 minute away from the Zoo station, so trafficwise an ideal choice, if you can stand the pungent smell of urine and handle the hordes of drunk begging homeless for that 1 minute. Dorm rooms are OK, but their doors are automatically closing with a loud noise unless your roommates are polite and close them slowly (not very likely). Wifi is free but crappy, the non-stop radio pop music is even more crappy...

Modern facilities and appliances for the hostel aspect of hotel. The reception staff and manager, however, were jaw-droppingly unprofessional -- and criminal. The WiFi-internet is unusably slow most of the time. I had several communications with the manager Daniel Boye regarding staff issues and internet, and Aletto Hotel Kudamm staff must fairly be described as unprofessional and criminal. Staff eventually admitted to having thrown into the garbage my courier-delivered package to the hotel.

Security wasn't the best in my experience. My locked didn't work so that is about all that needs to be said. The rooms are in the basement of the hotel. They are nice and so are the bathrooms. They were clean in my opinion as well. Atmosphere isn't overly special as it is also a hotel but it's not terrible. The location is a little far from the main sites but it's not terrible. Public transport is good in Berlin so you can get around very easily.

Nice and clean, good bathroom facilities. Wi-Fi is pretty poor, especially in the dorm rooms. Easy access to the U and S Bahn.
