Very clean, nice staff and a great location. The policy of not being able to get into your room until the entire stay has been paid in full for everyone on the booking was very annoying. Those of us who came in earlier on a flight were stuck with nowhere to go and found this very frustrating.I've never stayed in a hostel before where that was required. When recommending the hostel in future I will always point out how frustrating this was and not to book unless everyone will arrive together

We find that the carpet and bedding is quite dirty. Maybe it is just our room (a 6 person room). And the heater is not really working. However as the room is pretty warm (not in the early morning) and our stay us quite short we do not make any complaint.

Loved the bar area, great value for money. Rooms were good, plenty of bathrooms and toilet facilities. Only complaint is our room wasn't ready on time which was inconvenient as we had already been waiting around for some time, but apart from that the experience was great.

It was my 1st stay at a hostel in my life, and I thought it was better than many hotels I have stayed in. Very very good cost-benefit. I definitely recommend it.

One of the best hostels I've ever stayed in!!! And it's pretty much on The Royal Mile!

Hostel is in a good location, very clean and the ensuite had 2 showers and 2 toilets in the room we were in. Kitchen could have done with more plates and cutlery but you can get meals in the bar which looked good.

For the price, this hostel is absolutely worth it - it was clean and in a really good location, just off the Royal Mile. I stayed in a 12 bed dorm and I didn't even feel like it was too crowded.

Clean and comfortable with excellent utilities (all the dorms are en suite, do you don't have to worry about padding around in a bath towel, searching for the showers). The breakfast in the morning (£5) is substantial if you're a meat-eater, but quite limited if you're a veggie. The hostel's main detraction is its complete lack of character; it's one of the most anonymous hostels I've ever stayed in and the staff seem completely disinterested. Minor quibbles really!

I was really surprised with the free Scottish breakfast, it was very good. Staff gave really good information about the city. I felt very comfortable overall. My mom and my sister loved the fact that there was free wifi at the bar.

Very new Hostel, rooms were warm and showers were hot and had good pressure (both needed for the Scottish climate). Picked this hostel on value for money and location, 5 mins walk from the train station and 1 min off the Royal Mile. It was also on the same street as the Haggis office, where i started my Scotland tour.

Good location, but no parking, so that does add to the cost if you have a car. Right off the Mile so easy to get everywhere. Bar is great but quiet when I was there. Place seemed full, but people just not down in the bar. not much they can do about that really.

the room was very dirty, the litter bin full of rubbish, the mattress cover had spots, there were dirty socks on my bed and there were glasses on the floor

An excellent location right off the royal mile near the pick up point for Haggis Adventures. We stayed in a 4 person ensuite dorm first night in room 505 very spacious on second night satyed in 101 not as big but clean. Great bed linen though coudl do with another pillow. Excellent bar and break out area, cheap drinks £2 per spirit and pool tables. Did not try breakfast. Room for improvement would be to make WiFi free and have shower curtains where the shower and toilet are in the same room.
