A cosy place located a little bit "off the beaten track" i Kathmandu. The building is in a quiet residental street, but shops, atm etc is quite close. Staff is friendly. They have a nice restaurant and bar. Even hot showers. (Because of the situation after the earthquake there is only power for 11 hours each day, but they have their own powersource in addition) (as of February 2016)). Rooms are basic, but working quite well. Be aware that in winter it gets quite cold during the night.

You are staying at hostel right beside one of the most beautiful, revered temples in Nepal. You are taken care of by a staff that makes you feel like family. The cook, Vikas, is outstanding. Prices are super fair. Having been to a whole lot of hostels across Vietnam and India, I highly recommend the sparkling turtle as a fantastic place to set your feet and rest your eyes in Kathmandu.

Here during the fuel crisis so solar showers (very lukewarm) only. Staff were not extremely knowledgeable about Kathmandu. Far from the main tourist/shopping areas. Dogs barking at night kept my friend awake. Couldn't/didn't cook everything on the menu. Loved the vibe and view but maybe stay away during off-season or until the fuel crisis is over.

Peacefull and fun.. I felt really at home in The Turtle. The staff is friendly and always ready to help you when needed. The rooms were simple but all facilities were somewhere in the building. Just ask. And take some time to chat with the staff, they're always open for your feedback.

Perfect place to breakaway from busy Thamel and meeting like minded travellers. Staff is friendly, place is clean and full of good vibes! Definitely recommended.

Hostel very clean located near of monkey temple. 30 min from Thamel by walking. Staff is very nice. Very good for the price.

Nice hostel and cool to stay in the area. Beautiful views and free breaks was great. Would have been cool if there was a guest kitchen though :)

Great Value for money, would definitely stay here again. Staff are friendly and really helpful. The burgers they serve in there cafe are unbelievable! Highly recommended :)

Hot water sometimes doesn't work. But staff were really nice! And tasty breakfast upstairs! Met some friends there and we explored the city together! Nice experience!
