Fantastic backpackers. Best I have stayed in in Cape Town and my most recent stay was my second time there. The atmosphere, facilities and furnishings are fab. Staff are amazing - knowledgeable and accommodating. I will be back in a couple of weeks! More

Hey Amy, Lynda, Jess, Ivor, Charmain, thank you so much for making my stay here at the BIG so truely amazing! You all have created something which is not only very special, but surely unique in this world - a home away from home. A home full of hapiness, heartiness and joie de vivre. More

Amazing hostel with great staff who was friendly and accomodating. The central bar/lounge was a great place to hang out, meet people, play some pool, and listen to good music. Everyone in Africa has a great story to tell, and this is the place to go to meet them. Definitely staying here More

Over rated and over priced. I've stayed in a few back-packer, from Hermanus up to Cape Town and this was the worst. Not bad, just not worth the money, over-rated in terms of hyping themselves as "Africas best Hostel" (!!!!) and the crowd are dull in comparison to other back packers. But More

Very welcoming and competent staff, a great location. The flaws came from the facilities : the room had only one plug behind a bed, which was not practical at all. A fan on the celling would have been better. The beds made a lot of noise. A lack of intimacy in the toilets. Otherwise More

Awesome location, decent rooms. Only complaint was one of the older staffers (Eastern European accent) was not very helpful. Asked for directions in the morning after checking in he gave me very vague and essentially useless directions/advice. Ended up asking a cabbie who contradicted much More

Just got annoyed with one of your African male cleaners, who clearly was prejudiced towards me, because of my ethnicity of being a coloured person. I comfronted him. More
