Very nice staff, interesting character (the statue when you first enter is creepy), and great location. I should've stayed here my entire stay in Edinburgh.

Besides the fact that I had to walk across the hallways and up the stairs to use the washroom from the female dormitory, I actually enjoyed this place. I loved being next to Royal Mile. There was a lounge area next to the computer room which gave me a chance to unwind when I didnt want to

The staff was very friendly and the common room and bathroom facilities were nice, as well as the included breakfast. Yet the dorm room smelt of mold a little and that wasn't pleasant at all.

This is one of the best hostels I've ever stayed in. Clean, great facilities, helpful and pleasant staff, good breakfast, etc. Very impressive. And this last thing isn't that important, but they give you two pillows! It was the most comfortable bed I've had in a hostel.

Very friendly staff, super personable and helpful. Good breakfast for the cost (deluxe meal = 2.30 pounds, and probably the cheapest breakfast you'll find). Excellent location, close to bus station & easy to walk to all sites. Hostel overall was very clean and cozy. They have funny names

Very clean hostel, with a very cute atmosphere. Located in Argyle place, at 5 minutes from a lovely park (Meadows Park), and 10 minutes from Grassmarket. I really enjoyed the stay, especially because it was really clean.

It is often said that ONE employee will make ALL the difference in the impression a visitor forms.
That was true of 'Milly,' a lovely Colombian mujer who went out of her way to assist me on arrival.
It made ALL the difference in my stay! Thank you Milly!

Opted for a private double room. Hardly and space and bed very uncomfortable as 2 singles badly joined together.
Staff at bar disinterested at times.. overcharging 2 times out of the 3 transactions. Would be unlikely to return here.

Edinburgh Backpackers
- 65 Cockburn St, EH1 1BU, Edinburgh

Lack of computers and printing facilities was annoying. Not enough fridges to store food due to large spaces being taken up by "long term" residents. Lack of character in general. Location great.
