Having to leave the hostel between 11am and 2pm sucks, to be sincere. You're not allowed to go in even if you forgot something or need to leave a backpack in your room. And there's wifi only in the common area, not in the room.
Other than that, very clean, perfect location, huge rooms,

Rooms are kinda humid and the washer and dryer don't work too well but otherwise it's a pretty nice hostel especially for the price. Breakfast is good in the morning and it helps that they have a mini store with pretty cheap water wine and snacks.

The first person to greet us in the mid afternoon was lovely and very helpful. The remaining staff however seemed disinterested. Between the signs on the walls, DVD's they have but prefer you not use and the Internet password that suggests they'd rather you didn't log on you can't help but

Ciao Hostel
- via Guido Monaco, 34, Florence
- 20 May 2012
Good location, although the directions to the hostel aren't detailed enough. We ended up asking someone who had heard of it before, but I would recommend looking up how to get there from the train station BEFORE you arrive, because it really is quite easy if you know where to go. Other

It was a small hostel, with not many amenities. However, the rooms were large and there was actually a working TV. The staff were quite helpful and the place was reasonably clean. It's a short walk to the attractions, but not in the best neighbourhood.

Hostel Santa Monaca

Good kitchen. Clean. Computers with internet provided. The lockout is a bit annoying if you want to come back in the middle of the day to get sunscreen or sunglasses you can't until 2pm.

Nice place. sheets, towel and internet are free which is good. Seems like a good social place if that's what you like. They have a nice enough kitchen if your into cooking at your hostel.

Soggiorno Pitti
- Piazza Pitti, 8, Florence
- 26 May 2012
The place is pretty far from the SMN train station, so if you are walking with luggage, it is a far trek. But it is close to Ponte Vecchio, and right in the Piazza Pitti with the Palazzo Pitti across the street. So it is a nice area, the food in the trattorias nearby is better than in
