There are no alcoholic drinks allowed at this "beer garden".... The staff is very friendly and nice, but this hostel didn't live up to its #1 ranking. More

By far one of the best hostels I´ve ever stayed in, and definitely the best on Ihla Grande. The staff is super friendly and the atmosphere is excellent, in a great jungle local but not too far from the center. Also, the breakfast is out of this world! Do not hesitate to book! More

We had a very relaxed stay at the hostel, it was really good for us. Not all staff spoke English, thats the reason I rate staff average, all of them were friendly and trying to help. More

This was an ok hostel, the owner had to go through the dorm to his room which was strange. He also didn't speak any English. Good breakfast and good location. More

Very chilled. Only issue is that I was never sure who worked there or not. Breakfasts were very decent! More

Very pleased about my stay at Casa Verde. The hostess, Neia is like a second mum for everyone who's staying there. A very good breakfast and a great place to relax after a long day of walking around Ilha Grande. More

The owner doesn't speak english, so it was hard to communicate with her. First thing you notice when she shows you around, is their security system (or lack thereof): the key for each door is attached to a string that hangs beside the door. Though it's inconspicuous, technically anyone More

Cats all over the place (so be careful if you're allergic) and quite far uphill and not many lights on the road at night. Otherwise nice place, helpful host, good breakfast. Kitchen offers basic equipment if you want to cook for yourself, Internet is fast and reliable. More

The hostel is far from the beach or the main street compared to other hostels in the island, and the access is not the best if you're carrying a suitcase. There's no warm water in the shower. Leonardo, the owner, and his friends, are really creepy. If you book through any agency, like More

Staff was nice but not very good at English and did not seem to know a lot about the tours the hostel provided. Hostel had a lot of activities and made it possible to eat dinner there a couple of times which was fairly cheap. It is located a bit from the "city" and it takes about 15 More

At check-in, despite being told the room was ready, we were unable to receive clean bedding and we (there were two of us) were only able to receive 1 key card. The beds looked unclean. When the bedding arrived, it wasn't the cleanest. Breakfast was good and varied. Good atmosphere and warm More

Really great hostel in an amazing location. Wifi wasn't working for iPhones which can be pretty annoying! Staff could have been more helpful- especially when internet wasn't workinh so couldn't book onward steps/tours. Need bigger lockers in the rooms. Doesn't quite match up to other El More
