I had a very pleasant stay at the hostel, I'd say it's above an average hostel. It was mainly clean and is located in a very good area! I'm sure I will be back some time in the future! The beach and shopping area are only one block away each and there is a tourist information center right

The staff were friendly. The location was very good. How to use the washing machine and laundry was quite confusing first, though. I put $2.00 to buy a $1.50 drink and I didn't get any change.

Solo traveller, stayed in 6 bed dorm. I loved everything about this hostel! The name is what caught my eye when making my booking. The people I met, the organised social events, the kitchen/bathrooms in the rooms even a tv in the room. The rooms are cleaned everyday. Staff are friendly.

Awesome staff and super friendly service. Only improvement they could make is having a laundry facility on site but there are some about 15-20 minute walk away. The group pub outings should cater more towards budget minded travellers...it is a hostel after all.

Love this place it's got social events with sister hostel, free food and drink.
I enjoyed my stay but if your a light sleeper pick a room away from road, traffic runs all night (no exaggeration 10pm-7am) and is loud. That aside love this place.

Good hostel with lots of day tour organised (universal studio, disney , Hollywood). Receptionnists are very nice & helpful. Was in room 203, 6 dorm ensuite. Very clean! Got reimbursed for the shuttle bus. If you have no car like me, you have to walk to have food and stuff but all buses

Absense of AC can annoy Backhouse guests, I guess)
Lots of bathrooms, though, SPACIOUS kitchens...

The hostel is in a great location for the price, and the common area is fun to cook and hang out in. Security is below average for hostels in America - front and back doors are always unlocked and the rooms are not locked either. There are small lockers in the common area - not large
