I feel that I was misled when I booked online. On the page it said total cost and then total amount due. And when I got there they said I owed more and had to pay more since I used a credit card. I pulled up the email and saw that it said total due; she then directed me to the very bottom

Not a bad place--would have liked a couple of maps of Miami available. Also, the website says that luggage storage is available, but the corner of a room next to an elevator does not count! If you don't have secure luggage storage, please do not list that on the website! It was also loud

Great place to stay in Miami! Clean rooms, nice chill-out area, funny people, great staff, especially the colombian guy.
The only negative point about this hostel is the lady working in the morning, she is very unfriendly.

The Tropics Hotel and Hostel
- 1550 Collins Ave, Miami
- 26 May 2012
Dirty room, last person's bedding, towels, trash still in the room, and a cockroach. Never go to Miami over Memorial Day. Parties in the lobby at all hours of the night and helicopters patrolling Collins. Most horrible experience, no sleep.

Very well located, between Lincoln Road and Ocean Drive. One block from the beach. Good atmosfere, quiet and clean. Not good the tipical "hostel" mood. More like a hotel. If you are looking for party time and meeting people it's not the best place. But if you look for a good accomodation

I liked that every morning started form cleaning the bathrooms and the halls, althoug they banned us from using two showers. The air condition was very poor for 8-Bed Dorm with all eight girls inside. And they were too little lockers.
One more thing beware of some guests bringing others

The location and the price are the only good things!
There is loud music within the yard of the hostel all day long.
The hostel is very dirty.
In some rooms you don't have Wireless-Internet!
They don't provide any kind of plates or cutlery in the kitchen!
Good that it was cheap! ;)
