Loved this Hostel!! Such an awesome common area. Met so many amazing people.
The rooms are very nice. I stayed in a shared room, there was even a sink in the room. Awesome.
There is about 6 bathrooms with showers on each floor, so that was nice. Each night there is either a free dinner

Good place to stay wtih excellent facilities. Downsides are you have too show your card to reception every time you enter the door for security reasons. The bar has no music and serves no drinks during the week.

Staff friendly and helpful. Clean rooms and common rooms. Lacking an outdoor area but Probably due to location. Chilled atmosphere.

Nice place. First time I've stayed at a hostel. My only complaint is about the idiot outside on the sidewalk playing bongo drums until 4 in the morning.

A bit of a hassle getting to and fro. Nice place, but seems to cater to school groups and elderly.

There's only 1 shower and 1 bathroom per floor! The bathroom with the toilet is RIDICULOUSLY SMALL.

Encore Express Hotel/Hostel
- 1353 Bush Street, San Francisco CA, San Francisco

Great location at a value price with friendly staff. We stayed in a double bed room with bathroom. My husband was doubtful because I got a "cheap" deal. I felt comfortable with the reviews I read online, but wasn't 100% sure what to expect of a hostel. The music at night didn't bother

All rooms and bathrooms were clean and tidy to use. Great security and staff were helpful when asked. Great location to town and fishermans wharf. Would have liked a kitchen but other than that it was great for our purpose.

Got checked into a room and went to sleep. Woken up at midnight by the staff saying that they had checked me into the wrong room, that someone else was checking in and that I needed to move. The bed I was moved to had bed bugs. Woke up covered in sores.

I don't understand what all the negative reviews were about... the two rooms i stayed in were fine! I wasn't at the hostel much besides to sleep, but the hostel was exactly what I would expect from a hostel... clean, laid-back, communal space/kitchen... it was a fine place to stay.
