Amazing place in a beautiful setting. Friendly staff treat you like family, meals cooked there every night are fanstastic - and everything is so cheap. Security available for valuables but I didn't need it my belongings were left in the long room and stayed completely safe the entire time. More

The Harbourside Backpackers is by far the best hostel I've stayed in in Sabah. The rooms are clean and bright. The hostel owner is very friendly and even showed me around Sandakan to look for a local dessert. It is located close to Central Market where cheap eats can be found in the More

The lady at reception was very helpful, while the older dude at the desk was nice enough to let me stay up late to watch a Barclays Premier League match on the TV - just missing a free breakfast, that would have been a nice touch... More

A hotel resort with chalets and then separate Labuk B&B longhouse, which consists of double rooms and dorms (more or less the same as the double rooms). Obvious that facilities are there for the chalet guest. The grounds are beautiful, the pool (rather pond) is a nice touch, though full of More

Great location, right by the markets and on the harbor. Good internet and AC but the building is old and in need of maintenance. Hot water in showers did not work but room was simple and comfortable. New bed. Peaceful and quiet at night. More

Owner is exceptionally friendly. Dorm was clean. Free pancake (crepe) and coffee/tea for breakfast and only RM1 for an extra crepe... Delicious pumpkin curry. Wifi works best in lobby. Bathrooms ok. Good value. More

The hostel has you more or less like a captive, since it is very close to Sepilok center. The dishes served are simple, unimaginative and rather pricey. For more upscale food go up the street to the B and B, which serves things like rack of lamb and even some so so desserts. This hostel is More

I visited off-season and some facilities weren't available. My room was ok if shabby. The area around the pool was filthy although staff were there all day doing nothing apart from taking entry fee. One major complaint: the staff encourage any rehabilitated orangutans that visit by More
