On the website, I booked for a mixed dorm for 6 thinking that I have reserved an entire room for me and my 5 students. When we got there, they told us that they were splitting us up, the four girls in one room for four and one male and one female in another room (which we thought was a

Overall, I enjoy to stay at this hostel and it's not bad at all, except...when we asked "make up room", and the hostel didn't tidy up the bed. Understood it needed request to change the bed sheet but at least the hostel must help the guest to tidy up the bed.
Thanks.

City Central International Hostel

I had a great stay here. They had consistent hot water and even had laundry facilities. The English of the staff is good and they are very helpful and professional. My only complaint is that the heater in my room was not working very well and it was unseasonably cold during the trip.

The smell and the charakter reminded me of some school-camps of my childhood. And the shower was just dirty. There was not much cleaning going on anyway. Maybe one could sent one of the many quite helpful boys, who are hanging around behind the entrance tesk, to do that.
Though the beds

This hostel is a great price and in a convenient location (close to metro) but there were a few things that made our stay a little rough. The room smelled terrible when we got there. Also, the staff was friendly for the most part but not too helpful. They gave us the wrong directions

It's a neat and clean place. Close to the Bund and easy to get to everywhere basically. Though there aren't many restaurants nearby. If you don't like Chinese food / Shanghainese food, you have to walk a bit further to find something nice to eat.

Blue Mountain LuWan Youth Hostel

Absolutely awesome location, and a nice hostel. A few more permanent residents than travelers staying at the hostel, it seemed, but they were all cool people. Pretty much everything was just what it needed to be. The shower in particular was a welcome relief, as it did not require fiddling

Private rooms seemed a bit more expensive than I was accustomed to, but the quality of accomodations and the hostel as a whole was higher than other places as well.

I am not exactly sure why (maybe it's because I did not stay in Shanghai long enough to learn where all the tourist locations were. However, the hostel did not seem like it was in walking distance from everything. It seemed like it was more like a "15 Yuan ride" to everything. However,
