Since it is as big as a hotel, don't expect any atmosphere or character. Staff is more helpful and friendly than at other big hostels I know though, and there are also the usual amenities, such as large facilities and computers available. Location is a bit too far from the nearest metro

MINGTOWN Hiker International Youth Hostel
- No. 450 Middle Jiangxi Rd. Shanghai. P.R.China, Shanghai
- 22 May 2012
Great hostel, friendly staff and great facilities. Unfortunately there are a couple of characters currently living in Shanghai that like to frequent the bar on a daily basis, the worst of these being 'Chris the Dancer', who become tedious fairly quickly and can be hard to escape.

I was arrived at 23:30.
At that time, one staff in reception was very unkindness.
Except that, everything was very good!

1) It wouldn't hurt for some of you to smile more and be more welcoming. That's what will truly leave a lasting

Great hostel - not central, but very close to metro line. Metro in Shanghai is ridiculously easy to use! Staff were great when prompted.
