hi~ I've only been to east-southern part of china, the city suzhou has lots of chinese type garden which is attractive~~and shanghai is just ok, large and modern. hongkong is extramely beautiful in night and a shopping world. btw, the west-southern cities in china such as guilin and lijiang are famous sights. you can see most monorities living there. :) hope i can help
