mm...sure...plenty of nightlife..its melbourne! altho sydney stays up later....
ive got a friend who lives in collingwood if ur looking to couch surf..heaps of bars, restaurants, cafes, clubs, pubs...

Wake Up Sydney Central is a popular choice, Base Backpackers is also a great hostel...depends on what you're after really.

Melbourne is the greatest! Depending on what you are after! A nice drive along the great ocean road. Or to party it up in the city. Well crown casino is defo worth a look and dinner on south bank a must. I would then probably go to a Bar called transport in federation square! But it really depends on what you are after c.
