Hi - first a few tips for you: Lima isn't as bad as most people say.. Miraflores is nice for a day or two, but Barranco is the best part of town in my opinion.. not as "big city" as Miraflores. Nice restaurants in both places!
In Cuzco, look for the four day/three nights bike/hike to Machu Picchu, and try to get it for $150. Best tip I've got for there.. and yes! Try to reach Waina Picchu while you are on the top, it's great!
And you're headed for Santiago? I'd say Andes Hostel is the best hostel there (and one of the very best all over), but Bellavista is a cooler area.
Now for my other question:
I think you might have a "bad seed" in your selection of hostels, or at least it seems that way.
I wrote a review for Dallas Irving Backpackers Guesthouse (my reference is 15482-15215136), but.... and check this out - it got deleted!
I did write a critical review of the place, but that was in order. Of all my reviews, this is the only one that has been purely negative - but I don't think that would be why it got deleted? I see that my booking there is now listed as "cancelled".. but I did stay there for five days.
Is it the hostel owner that's been manipulating the system, or maybe he's told HW that I didn't stay there..?
In any case, I'd like my review to stay there, because I think it's a relevant one - and there is no reason to remove it anyway, based on the review regulations.
Could you please reply as to how I can restore the review, or write another one? And how come it got deleted in the first place? Foul play, or a mistake..?
All the best, Pål
