hi, sorry, so long to reply. i'm really enjoying australia and melbourne is just a beautiful place to be. as for paris... i say, dont smile at people walking down the street. dont strap a purse accross your chest or you're sure to look like a tourist. watch your bags in crowded metro cars, there are picpocketers. try the mule , its mussles and is very good at the mule restaurants. try to stay within the circlular area of the city, not to venture too far to the south east end though, not a great area to be in. the streets are pretty safe to walk at night, you will see gaurds everywhere, so enjoy the city lights and the eiffel tower with some wine or such. explore all the little side streets in the populated areas, there are lots of little shops that you may find neat things. all the major attractions are good. climb up to sacre coure its nicer than riding the little tram, and there is great scenery on all the little back road/paths to take. say bonjour to the store people when you walk in or they will think you rude in the private shops. take comfy shoes and have fun :)
