Hey, we do have national cloth brands (Sacoor Brothers, Quebramar, Lion of Porches etc.) but not really cheap like the Spanish (Pull&Bear, Bershka, Zara)... In Chiado and Bairro Alto you can find many shopping options, besides all the boring shopping malls... Cheers

Hey, within Lisbon you can take the subway or some buses or just walk (best option). To go to the beach in Caparica you better take the Bus at Praca de Espanha, to Sintra I guess the best way is by train but honestly don't know, it's better if you ask at the reception of your hostel to get more accurate info.
Regards and Have fun...

Hi! i saw that most of the people already told u the best of Lisbon. I let you some of my best recommendations.
Near the castle ask for "esplanada da Graça". It is a terrace with one of the best Lisbon views. In Chiado/Bairro Alto ask for "Adamastor" for some drinks before dinner (another terrace; the best view!). Ask for the meaning of Adamastor. take 1 afternoon in Belem. See the monuments, have lunch on CCB and find the Pasteis Belem!
In Cais Sodre ask for Portugalia, another good place for a drink/meal with the river in front of you.
At night, go to Bairro Alto and after MusicBox, Incognito or Lux. Check the lecool.com for the happenings (DJ set, gigs, etc).
Have fun!

yes I think you should go to sintra. it's lovely! but it's outside lisbon (about 20/30 minuts by train)
nice places to go out:

- LUX and MUSIC BOX are the best clubs to go out
- Bairro alto is very cheap and have nice bars and restaurants!

and well! my compatriots advices are perfect ;)

although I guess you won't have time to go to Cabo da Roca, Cascais, Estoril and Costa da caparica(and I think sintra is a lot more beautiful). but if you have a day left, I advice you to go to Almada with boat to se the lisbon's view: it's the most beautiful. and if you go to almada you can catch a bus and go the COSTA da caparica (beaches).

:)

the cakes in belém are called PASTEIS DE BELÉM. you'll see the huge line at the door it always has ;)

have a nice stay in Lisbon!

Hi
I already saw you had good advices from Filipe and Nuno. Sintra is a must.
You can go by train. But you are thinking in going by car, you can return to Lisbon passing by Cabo da Roca, Cascais, Estoril.

Inside Lisbon go to the castle, there you have a great view of the city and the river. and in the way up you are crossing a very old neighborhood - Alfama, and you also have the old Cathedral in the way up.

YOu should also see Mosteiro dos Jerónimos in Belém, and Torre de Belém. If you are in thar area don't miss the Cakes "Pastéis de Belém" in the special cake shop. YOu just have to ask there where it is.

To have dinner, Bairro ALto has plenty of choices, with plenty of prices...
There you have lots of bars also. Normally people stay in the outside talking and drinking. I don't know the kind of club you like, but the "bedroom" is a kind of club in Bairro Alto. Jamaica, and Music Box are within walking distance. After 3 am there are crowds trying to get in, so try to go a little earlier.
Lux is cool, but you have to go by cab. Any questions or doubts you can write to me, i think you can see my email?

Have a great trip to Lisbon.

Hello, definitely you shouldn't miss Sintra (especially Quinta da Regaleira). In Lisbon visit the typical neighborhoods (Castelo, Chiado, Belem) and all the monuments nearby. If the weather is good head to the beaches (best ones in caparica – praia do castelo, morena etc., many good looking people there or in linha do Estoril – Sao pedro…).
Restaurants and bars: In Bairro alto you can find everything and spend a great night out (just remember don’t go out to the bars before 23:30 or you’ll get disappointed with the few crowd). Discos, LUX (12€ usually) is always the best option, if you’re in the mood for something cheaper and closer to bairro alto: Music Box, Jamaica. During the afternoon don’t miss the nice coffes with great view: Chapito, Graca, Noobai, for some nice info about what’s on: www.lecool.com. P.S. feel free to send me a private message

Hey ... well sorry that I'm late.. i told you that i would send you this message before 24.00, but my train back home was late and i just arrived home. To get to Montserrat, (2 options):

1. Go to Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat Station in Espanya Square (not the metro station but the FGC station -which is a railwail company). You can ask for info in a tourist info center dedicated specially to Montserrat. Follow the indications.

2. As there is not going to be service between Espanya Square and St. Josep Station of FGC due to that problem in the tunnel I already talked to you about, then another option is to go straight to Avinguda Carrilet with RED LINE METRO that is you get on in STATION ESPANYA of the RED LINE OF METRO direction HOSPITAL DE BELLVITGE... you get off in AV. CARRILET and there you change into FGC - railway. You have to take train R5 LINE direction MANRESA-(BAIXADOR). You've got trains at every XX:44 that is 09.44, 10.44 and so on... Once on R5-LINE get off in Monistrol de MONTSERRAT... there take the cable car to the top of the mountain (the cable car is nect to the train station).

( ! ) remebre that due to those problems between ESPANYA SQUARE and ST. JOSEP STATION timetables may be modified ... so be patient and start your excursion as soon as possible (08.44 for example).

( ! ) Check timetables back to Barcelona (AV. CARRILET) you may not want to stay on the top of the mountain. :D

pd. let me know that you read this message, any other problem, do call me at cell number.

Bye-bye.... see you on wednesday night for dinner.

Czesc Tomasz

Well first info you need to know is that train railway has been cancelled from airport to the city centre... so do take the busses instead... probably you are flying into Barcelona with Clickair and that means that you can only get the Night Busses to get to the centre. they are yellow. Alternatively you have blue busses which are going straight to the Cataluña Square in the centre...but you have to pay three times more than you have to in the yellow busses.

As for party, tomorrow I'm meeting two erasmus friends who are living in barcelona. They are form Italy and Germany. It's going to be fun so join us if you want. My phone is +34 651573108 text me tomorrow to tell me wether you want to join us.

By the way... thanks for sending Kaczynsky to hell. Polska is saved now: Nie planom Kaczyńskich! Przywróćmy wolność!! :D
