Hi Lyn, China was great! Beautiful nature, kind people though just a few speak English and our Chinese is rather poor. We have been staying at beautiful hostels with all kinds of atmospheres. We made three trips by nighttrains, very relaxing and a good sleep.

Hi Lyn, I have been to Turkey and Greece repeatedly. These are really nice countries to travel. Have you any specific questions about it?

Hi Lyn, Nice to read more people of our age prefer B&B and/or hostels. We always enjoy our stay in hostels rather than the big hotels. Look forward to being your buddy. Have you been to China already?

Hi!! Sorry for the delay but my friend was in vacations... I hope you can get to read this. SO first he said that I was right, and the cruise will leave you right in the centre of the city and there are plenty of buses or minivans that can take you to the hotel. REgarding Iguazu... flights are really expensive (like 500 dollars). BUt if you have time, you could go by bus from Buenos Aires... the best company is EXPRESO SINGER. You can check www dot enjoy-argentina dot org or try to see this page (with the schedules): www dot transit21 dot com dot ar/singer dot htm When going from Mendoza to CHile... if you are going by bus try to do it in the morning! Because the view is PERFECT! to go to El TIgre... you can take a train called "El tren de la costa" and once there... there are plenty of ferries and boats. HOPE YOU HAVE A GREAT TIME!!!!! GOOD LUCK!!! Silvina

HI! it s me again! I just found the hostel you told me you are staying in Buenos Aires. It is really really in the centre of the city, 6 blocks far from the "Rosada House" (the Argentine "White House")and just 2 blocks far from the most important avenue in BUenos Aires (9 de Julio). Im still waiting for my friend to answer back but if Im not wrong... I think that cruise will leave you like...20 or 30 blocks far from the hostel. I ll let you know as soon as i found out about it. Bye!!! SIlvina

Hi there!!! Good to hear from you again! Of course! Id love to be your travel buddie! I think the idea of doing Iguazu by yourself sounds really good! I also did Peru but myself and it was really really nice. Im not sure if it is easier in Argentina... I just want to warn you for example with taxis... i know that there are some fake taxis that cna charge you with A LOT OF MONEY! So... ask first how much it will cost you (a good idea is to ask the people in the place you are leaving how much it would cost). Anyway, i have many friends in Buenos Aires and Im checking with them how much would it cost a taxi from the port (I havent been there for an year... and I know prices are going up!). BUt the way, did you see that Hostelworld has a hostel in Foz do Iguazu? (thats in Brazil but is not really far. I mean Puerto Iguazu (Argentina) and Foz do Iguazu (BRazil) are twin cities, they are one next to the other just separated by the border. Maybe staying there would be a good choice. If you are going by yourself PLEASE!!! Dont miss the excursion in the argentina side of the Iguazu falls. I took both excursions and I really loved the argentine side (dont miss the "Devil THroat!"). ANd regarding the penguins... i think thats the best (to go to Chile). I know it is really expensive in Argentina! Ok I will keep you informed abt the taxis! (I know you dont have much time!) Take care!! Ohhhh and the website of the hotel in Mendoza is www dot hoteledian dot com see you! SIlvina PS: Do you already know where are you staying in Buenos Aires?

Hi! Hostel Forestal is a great option. It might be everything that you might looking for. It is in a perfect location, and the buses are a block away. They offer a shuttle service which is rather economic. Although the staff always organize events for their guest, it doesn't get loud and you are able to rest if needed. :)

Hi Darlene Im back... i forgot to tell you about what i found regarding Iguazu. Let me tell you that it is not easy to find out about bus tickets on line... I ve been checking the web site of the company i recomended you (If you want... it is www dot andesmar dot com dot ar. They dont have service from buenos aires to iguazu but they do have it from Mendoza... i dont know if you would like it. It looks like the cost for that trip -Mendoza-Iguazu- is 130u$. So 260 for the whole trip/person. I know... it is not really cheap to go there... but i found a company that offers 2 excursions and 2 nights hotel for 80 dollars/person. The website (i dont know if they have it in English) is www dot vacacionesydestinos dot com dot ar. Remember to select PUERTO IGUAZU (ARGENTINA) instead of FOZ DO IGUAZU (BRASIL) because it is a little cheaper. I dont really know if Im helping you with this... please let me know! TRy to send me an email... if you get the address! lol it is silvina.alvarez at g mail dot com

HI again! I remember I went to a very nice and small hotel in Mendoza so i checked with them and they told me that a bedroom for 2 people is around 80-100 argentine pesos (what would be like 20-30 dollars). It is a family hotel so I think it would be ok. If you want to check it, their website is www.hoteledian.com Regarding the penguins.. unfortunately i have just seen the ones in Argentina (in Puerto Madryn) and it was beautiful. Actually I was thinking that MAYBE in CHile the landscape must be better.... but i really dont know about this. Sorry. ABout the bus from the ship port... do you know where are you arriving? Or the name? because i think that the port is pretty much in the center of the city. Anyway, i will check with a friend. Are you arriving in a cruise? I will be back with more information for you! Please, keep asking me questions! Good luck! Silvina

Hi there! i got your message asking me about Argentina. REgarding the bus for Mendoza-BA... i dont think they are really expensive and there are a lot of choices... my favorite is ANDESMAR. It is not a real real sleeper bus but if you choose sits fromthe 1st floor in the bas, oyu will sleep really really good (in the 2nd floor they are ok as well... but not that good. Specially if you consider that the trip will take you like 14 hours). Please, just remember NOT TO USE a company named TAC. They are awful! And regarding the Iguazu fall i cannot help you right now because i just went there once and using a travel agency from San Luis. But let me ask my friends from there and I will try to find some useful tips for you. If you have any other questions... please, feel free to ask me! Just in case, my email is silvina.alvarez@gmail.com See you! Silvina
