Sorry for the delay but i've just finished working. I think the best you can do is spend friday evening-night in Sol(metro lines 1-2 and 3). There are many great pubs and discos; once there you should ask for the ones which close the latest as many of them closes at 3!(but don' worry because there are many open untill 6........but you have to look for them, jeje).
On saturday you can try with another zone called "la latina". I prefer to spend the night from bar to bar instead of staying in the same place(even if the place is a big disco)

Hi Maarten I can hardly remember Madrid but there is a great nightlife. It is nice to be out all night, it is much better than the day time. Maybe if you start on the terraces at Puerto del Sol or whatever the main square is then you'll meet locals who will tell you where to go. Just a warning - the parties aren't as good or as mad as in Scandinavia!!!

we were only there for the weekend but
the first night we just stayed at the bar at cats hostel. pretty good place to meet people. the next night we went to an irish pub and we met an american guy who invited us to a private birthday party. We stayed there all night...so I really did not go out in madrid. have a nice trip to madrid. the city is beautiful. Helene
