Hello Mario,

when you visit Kaunas and want to go somewhere to dance, if you like latino music, you can go to Latino Pub which is near the Cathedral. It is small but cozy and people who gather there are very friendly and nice. If you like listening to Russian musi, you can go to Metelica which is in Laisve avenue not far from Soboras. I wouldn't suggest you going to Zeppelin, for example, because people are fighting there very often, so it's not very safe. There is also one club Amerika Pirtyje, which is not far from soboras and from Bus station. There you can listen to techno music and pop music in two different rooms. I hope I helped you.

Hi im sorry i havent checked my messeges in a while. There is one street in Reykjavík that is feel with different kind of pubs, but there are no discotechs in iceland. If you have been to the shopping street called Laugavegur it's the same street that has all the pubs, you will find many cafes there that turn into dancing clubs in the evening. I would recomend clubs called "hressingarskálinn" and "q bar" but since the pubs are all really close to each other it is easy to change pubs until you find one you like. It is very unusual if you have to pay for an entry to the pub and only happens if there are some special events, like life concerts going on. Hope i've been some help and ask if there is anything else you want to know about Iceland.

of course I can speak you something about Mexico, if you like the museums, the antropology museum is the best. You can look around the downtown, the palace of fine arts is so beautiful and finally if you enjoy the nigh clubs or bars, you must meet el "Rio de la Plata" (bar) and "Cream" night cub.

Hi Mario, Ok so in Lisbon we have lots of museums and monuments, there is the Sao Jorge Caslte, Belem Tower, Jeronimos Monastary and lots of lovely scenery along the coast and in the mountains of Sintra.

For going out there are a few areas, typical portuguese bars and youth in Bairrio Alto and then for clubs and places to dance there is an area next to the river called Docas.

I hope this helps
Jane :-)

Thanks!!! We will!
Well, Paraty is in the Rio de Janeiro state, and 5 hours driving from Sao Paulo. Is a very beautiful place, worth visiting. Also, there is an island called Ilha Grande, close to Paraty, wich is one of the most beautiful places in Brazil (my opinion, of course...). This island is nice if you like a litle bit of adventure (no cars allowed on he island, so you have to hike or take a boat to go to the beaches or waterfalls). And, of course, Rio de Janeiro is a very, very beautiful city, unique in the world... can be dangerous sometimes, but definately worth visiting. The good thing is that from SP you can easily get a bus to all those places.
But if you're planning to go up north Brazil, try to visit Fernando de Noronha island. The most beautiful beach in Brazil is there.

Hi Mario! Sorry it took so long to write back!
Ok, so you're visiting Sao Paulo! That's awesome! It's a huge city, but the coolest thing about it is that SP is not touristic at all... you'll be able to see people living their real day by day life.
The best sites: Av. Paulista, a very busy and beautiful avenue, with lots of museums, galleries, bookstores and nightlife (specially at Rua Augusta); Vila Madalena, our alternative neighborhood, with different shops and art galleries, and with an amazing nightlife (mainly bars and restaurants). For nightclubs you shoul head Vila Olimpia. Just go there and you'll find an option every corner.
Good sites to visit too are the Ibirapuera Park specially on the weekends, when there's a lot going on; the Ipiranga Museum (Museu da Independencia) if you like history, and the central area of the city, specially around Anhangabau (the oldest part of the city, with beautiful architecture - and tons of people).
About safety: the most important thing is to be aware all the time, and don't show your expensive things (cameras, cellphones and MP3's). Make sure to keep your eyes on your stuff all the time, specially in the central area of the city... usually pickpocketing is the most common thing to happen. And at night avoid dark areas, stay where the people is, and you'l be fine, ok?
I'd show you around if I was in SP, but now I'm in the USA with my boyfriend... so good luck and let me know if you need any other information, ok!?

Hi Mario!
I don't live in Valencia now, but I can tell you, better in Valencia is El Carmen, the center neighbourhood. There are a lot of pubs and disco (bounty, radiocity..) When you are ther, you'll see. You can visit al the churches and modernist and gothic buildings in the center, and for modern buildings, you can visit La ciutat de les Arts i les Ciències, near from river, a beatiful place and big museum of arts and science. And you can walk along the beach (Malvarrosa and Cabanyal) and eat very very well! The San Pio's Museum and IVAM are very interesting too.And for natural travel, you can visit The Albufera, a natural park with boats.
I hope I help you with this little information.I f not, you can answer in information point.
Good luck and good travel.
Don't forget taste a good paella!
And if you can, travel in 19th march, for the Fallas Party , the city is full of people and good music!
adéu!

That's very unfortunate w/ Krakow. Luckily for us though, it was sunny all the way through! Rynek Glowny was such a "happening" square during the weekend - even had a concert while we there! And of course there was Wawel Hill. We also went to Wielicszka Salt Mines (sculptures and an underground church made of salt!) and Auschwitz/Birkenau concentration camps where we met an extremely friendly Polish couple who took us around. Overall Krakow experience was amazing! But glad to know at least you enjoyed Madrid!

hello mario, sorry write you until now. If you are going to "Cartagena" you have to go party there and go to the "ciudad amurallada" is like the old city, but now full with restaurants, bars and wonderful places to go shopping. Also in "San Andres" islands you will find beautiful beaches, the sea is wonderfull. And "Guajira" is like a dessert but just next to the sea. There you will find nice cultures, specially the "wayuu" indians, beautiful place to visit.
Thanks for the info about your place, I hope I can go there someday.
Take care

Hello Mario!
Thanks for the note. If you like to relax, eat and have fun - then Manila is your right destination! :) Check out the Serendra restaurants in Taguig (5 minutes away from Makati, thats the central business district) - they serve a variety of cuisine (the best, I must say) that you could choose from. Also, there's a new place right across Serendra, called Bonifacio High Street - it offers rows of flaship stores, retail boutiques, and restaurants too. For partying, check out the Fort Strip (still on the same area) or Greenbelt (in Makati).

Am going to Saigon, any tips? :)

Have fun and happy travels!

Maui :)

Hi there! Concerning Cartagena I can tell you that there are about 1000 km between it and Bogotá. There are several options of roads you can take but the most direct and the best is to go from Bogotá to Santa Marta and then Cartagena. This route is called "Troncal del Magdalena". As we have as you know lots of mountains, this trip can be quiet long, it can take 18- 24 hours. I can tell you however that Cartagena is a really beautiful place, it is enchanting, so the long drive is really worth it. If you want to know something else just write.

Hello Mario! I'm glad you are coming to my country. Right now I'm living in bogotá. You really want to party here. We have nice restaurants, dance clubs, pubs; the best located in two zones: "Zona T - 82 Street" and "Parque 93 - 93 Street Park", a lot of fun, drinks, people, dancing! :) Here you can find other alternatives depending on your likes: museums, parks, tracking.
Also if you are coming to Colombia I really recommend you to go to the north ("Cartagena", "San Andres" Island, "Guajira") there we have beautiful beaches and a lot of things to do. If you prefer being in touch with nature, traveling to "Amazonas" is a good, exotic and amazing option. If you need something else, please don't hesitate ton ask me. I hope you enjoy your trip. Tell me if you decide to come to Bogotá, I can guide you here. Regads, Joan P.

Hi Mario!
Cool that u decided to visit Haifa!
Its known as a working city so it doesnt have many clubs neither lively nightlife, kind of depends if its a weekend or not. Most of the clubs open on midnight on Friday or Saturday, but we do have many pubs specially at the Moria street. The good clubs are outside of Haifa :( ...such as Ultrasound and Terminal. Really nice cafes and Shisha bars in the German colony near the Ba'hai gardens, which is open for visit at the morning and is the most beutifull place here in Haifa.Elijah's Cave not far from there if u like caves :) At the evening u can whalk in the "Tayelet Lui" there is a cool view of the see from a mountain :) u have a Rojo bar and Irishpub there.... before that u should go to the western beach "Hof Dadu" to see the sun set and to spend some time at the beach.... also many cafes there.
The food prices are not various, the differences betwean the cafes are not significant. The cheepest food is in the supermarkets which are everywhere...and the most expensive in it restaurants.
When do u plan ti visit Haifa?

Hi Mario, I think it's great you're coming to Bogotá, believe it or not it's a nice city. I don't know what you would like to do so I'm giving you some general advice. The historical part of the city is the city centre of course, there you find the gold museum, the palacio de nariño (where the president lives), the plaza de bolivar, cathedral and the candelaria neighborhood, these are all nice places but when visiting these place you just have to be carefull, not extremely its nothing out of proportion, but as there are so much people always there you just have to look after your stuff. There as well you can visit Monserrate. It is a beautiful church on a mountain top where you hace an amazing view of the city, and right next to it you find Quinta de Bolivar, a beautiful country house when Simon Bolivar used to live in, so it has a lot of historical artifacts. You can also go to the National Museum. All those places are located at the centrum.
North of the city you find all the fun. It is really safe, and you can find shopping malls, bars, things like that. There is the a beautifull place called Parque de la 93, where there are restaurants, pubs, and believe me there are the best of the city. There is also the 82 street. The most exclusive malls are located in the area and there are also really nice places to eat or go out there in a place called Zona T. If there is anything else you would like to know just write again. I hope these information is worth to you. Bye.

If you head downtown in LES (lower east side, you will find alot of great bars, lounges and all these things) The meatpacking district is also great for clubs and restaurants. A club with a great view of NY skyline is 230 5th. Some nights the DJ is good and sometimes not... well I hope this has given you some ideas, have fun!

Hi, Mario! Thank you for your email. I have been out of the country on holidayand just got back last night. I am glad that you like my photos. You will love Patagonia Sur. As my time was very limited, I took LAN airlines to El Calafate. The only way you can access those places is by signing up with this tour group called Hielo Y Aventura unfortunately. I highly recommend doing the big ice option for Perito Moreno as you can walk around the glacier more. Sadly, they were sold out when I was there and had to settle for the mini-trek and I felt that was a waste of money. I have to check when I get home from work about the name of the tour group that I used to see all the glaciers. That was an all day affair and it was so wonderful. The glacier excursion was costly but so worth it! I stayed at a B&B while I was there. It is a room in a lovely home that this wonderful couple owns. It is called Case de Grillos. Marta is very helpful. She was the one who recommended the glacier excursion to me. Patagonia will leave you breathless. Please let me know if I can help you with anything else! Cheers, Annalee
