Yeah, Im heading to Istanbul for 4 days i cant wait ive been wanting to go there for a while now. Where did you stay? wheres the best area to stay?

I actually went to Antarctica with my school so it was all pre-planned. The most difficult part is deciding on the company to go with, everything else is taken care of. You sleep on the boat, and the landings are choosen by the crew for it's wildlife, historical value, or exceptional beauty. Some cruises do stand-bys where you can get a super cheap deal a few days before the ship leaves. We had an Aussie on our ship who did it that way. Most cruises leave from Ushuaia, Argentina. If you have any other questions, I could talk about Antarctica forever. Best place I've ever traveled by far. :) Happy travels!

But being in Asia and Europe, have you found it useful to carry a pocket guide for certain phrases with you in addition to researching the country's list of things to do?

hey.. you're the first name i saw on here and an american flag so i picked you.. but this is my first time traveling by myself and i was wondering if you could help me out. is it easy to find people at the hostel to see whos traveling where? as of right now, i have no plans and its just me and i was hoping to find some people wanting to visit the same places i'm going and just roll with them. let me know what you think.. thanks christopher.
