As for Brisbane there are 2 backpacker accommodation that i would recommend. One is Base as its situated in the center of Brisbane city opposite the train station. Fraser island is too big for 1 day so i would suggest doing Moreton. Cannot suggest any backpackers for Noosa as i have never stayed in any there. I very rarely visit noosa as i enjoy this end of the sunshine coast better.
Fraser Island is definitely worth the visit. I did a 2 day self tour of the island last year so could not give any advise on what tours to use when visiting. As for backpackers on the sunshine coast i think Cotten Tree Backpackers is worth the visit as its very close to the beach and shops and public transport are also close by.
