Hey packing girl!
We are comming to your city 16.oct.09 for a while :) We plan to go to Niagara falls by rent a car.
It says that we need 7 hours?
Is it good road? Highway perhaps?
I made an reservation through Avis - Van, 4 days 303 CAD$. Sounds ok?
Thanks for your answers!

Hi!!!
How can I help you?
I went to croatia last month, for 9 days and started the the trip in zagreb, How many days you are planning to get aroun the country?
From zagreb, we went to plitvice-zadar-split-brac-hvar-dubrovnik, all by bus and ferrys
I thing that its better stay at the ghesthouses. If you are travelling by bus, you are going to find a lot of old ladies asking you about acommodation. Dont worry about this.
Beaches are marvelous! definitly, you are going to have a good time!
if you have more questions, please, dont hesitate!
Bye!

Hi,
my brother can organize good rent a car with pickup in zagreb and drop off in Dubrovnik. Send me some dates types of the car; and I can send the price for you to check it out and compare. After that we can make an reservation if you like. Bus and train station are very close in Zagreb so it is easy to get a ticket to Wienna.

Hi, as far as i know, there is no ferry from dubrovnik to Greece.. I will check just to be sure what would be the best option. I just came from Krk and Cres islands :) Train from zagreb to wienna can be booked, but as far as I know it is not necessary and definitely can not be booked through inet... There are also buses which can be booked . I will check it out. Where are you now?

Hi,
if you plan to visit the greek islands then you should focus to one island complex because there are so many here. So if you decide to vsit Santorini then you can probably visit Naxos, Paros or Sifnos, Serifos.
These are the Cyclades islands, they are closed to each other and they have frequent connection both to Piraeus and to each other (island hopping is very common among international visitors).
On the other hand you may go for the big islands such Crete or Corfu but you should consider more days in one island because these are very big islands and have places to see!
Cheers form Athens

My suggestions would be Koh Tao. It's about an hour away from Koh Pangan (where the famous full moon party is held) but it's totally different. You might enjoy the beautiful scenery underwater when you go diving with the sharks (the vegetarian ones). Chiangmai sounds great, not my fave city though. Bangkok would be nice for a couple days. East coast would be worth a visit aswell =)

Hiya!
Sorry for replying late. As far as Thailand's concerned, try not to get ripped off by tazi/tuk tuk drivers. Ask for the lowest fare as possible and when you take a taxi, tell him to go on metre :) Shoot me if you got any more questions, yeh? Have fun in Thailand!

Hello from Oz :) Australia is a great place visit. Glad to hear (or read...) your dropping by to have a look. I live in Perth, which is on the west coast and the complete opposite side to where most people go. Sydney, Melbourne, Cairns, etc. I haver travelled quite a bit around Australia so if you ley me know your stops, I might have a few suggestions. Australia is a big place with plenty to see... just a whole lot of distance between. Good on you girl for gettin' out there. I discovered your NEVER too old to do it. I met a guy in Portland, Oregon (2005) that was NINETY TWO and backpacking. Careful... you might get hooked :)

Hi again. New Zealand is very easy to get around, either by Magic Bus (hop on, hop off) or hire a cheap car. The trains are pretty non-existent for getting around the country, but there are a few. What to see and do - Taupo (sky diving, bungy jumping, skiing, fantastic scenery, Huka Falls), Rotorua (mud pools, scenery, bush walks, cultural shows), Auckland (night life, Sky Tower, shopping), Queenstown (magical scenery, gondola rides up mountain, skiing, quaint town with lots to do, plenty happening but expensive), Arrowtown (town still set in history but inhabited), Christchurch (great city to visit for lots of things), Nelson (awesome scenery, great friendly people, lots of crafts made here, beautiful beaches), Kaikoura (whale watching). Now for the working on farms for board etc. We did this in France where you work for board and food. Great system but we didn't check profiles well enough or ask enough questions about things like bathroom conditions, bedroom conditions, work etc. We got some disgusting places. I highly recommend as a way to get around, meet people, get amongst it, but definitely ASK those questions of anything that you think would make you not like it or feel uncomfortable. Join www.helpx.net if you wish to find places to stay/work. Click on New Zealand and have a search. When I first found this, you could search places for free, but if you want to make contact with anyone you need to pay and register, but well worth it than any other site I have been to like this. Good luck and ask me anything else I haven't answered.

Hi

Wow, first trip and sold house and everything. You are serious all right. Good on you, nothing like jumping out of the square.

Greece - we mainly visited the islands and Athens. The city was awesome, we walked around it for 10 whole hours and very easily without any hassles. Just don't go into the obvious back alleys and you will be fine.

As for the islands - they are just great. We went to Mykonos, Paros, Naxos and Santorini and had the most fantastic time, but we were a couple, so romance was the main ingredient. Others may have better ideas for a single person.

Either way, getting to and from each island by ferry was a breeze. We booked each one as we got to the next island, no worries and reasonably cheap, and ALWAYS they came on time!!

Not sure what you are interested in, but if it is sunsets, all islands were super special. I have nothing bad to say about any of them really - my best destination ever - I could live there cos it is like stepping back in time but in a cosy, relaxed way.

Just saw you also went to Greece...that's the second destination on my trip...so would also love any info you have on that!

Sleeping in the small town near the park is ok, but also you can proceed to Zadar in the evening. By bus and by car - connections are very good and Zadar is a very safe place. If I were you I would stay in Croatia arround 10days and as I said earilier, spend little more time in Zagreb. It is becoming to be very popular. Achitecture and city landscape are much different than Montreal I believe. There are some of similarities with Wienna and Budapest becuase we were under the same crown in the past.

Hi again,
Forgot to let you know that you may need 3 weeks in Thailand. (Bangkok-Ayuthaya-Sukothai-Chiangmai-Chiangrai then fly to Phuket or Krabi or Trang). For Vietnam, I only been to Hanoi. Nice, you probably like it but a lot of people there and a bit overwhleming for me.

You will like Bangkok, if this is your first time to Thailand. Getting around is easy by a subway and a skytrain. Food and accommodation is not expensive. When you are in Bangkok do visit the Grand Palace and temple of emerald buddha, temple of reclining buddha, temple of dawn, Jatujak weekend market, national museum, national gallery, dinner cruise on Chao Praya, take a river cruise to Ayutthaya (ancient capital). If you love the beach, go to Phuket then take a snorkelling daytrip to Phi Phi Island, or go to Krabi and stay on Railey Beach or Ao Nang if you like quite environment. If you love the mountain go to Chiangmai and Chiangrai and spend a week there visiting temples, caves and the hillltribes. Enjoy your RTW.

i think that renting car is great option :) ...you definitely should go to Plitvice Lakes and than to the south (Zadar, Split). You will enjoy in the driving because landscape is amazing!! :) From Split you can take a ferry and than go the Island of Brac or Hvar. (but you should leave your car in Split, because it's expensive to take a car on a ferry) and than after that....enjoy the driving to the south of Croatia and Dubrovnik. You have chose a great time to visit Croatia. it wouldn't be too hot, and there wouldn't be too many tourists. :) i'm not sure would i be in Croatia in september, but if you need any help, or maybe a guide just send a mssg :)

To bad you are here for only 1 night.. Renting a car or taking a bus - both options are perfectliy ok, depends on you, what you wolud like the best and your budget. We have good bus connections with those places and the roads are also great (easy to drive). I can help you with the rent a car and the bus. Zagreb, Plitvice National Park, Split and Dubrovnik are great places to see. Only, you could extent Zagreb a bit. Send more questions. my email is ds@comping.hr
