About me

Hi :) I'm from Seoul, Korea. I love travelling. Making itinerary is one of my hobbies (Hehe, sounds silly, doesn't it? ^_^) I've been to Most of Europe, Morocco, Tunisia, Philippines and Japan. If you're coming to Korea, just leave a message to me. :) I'd love to be your friend :) Stay cool, ciao :) I'm going to China from 30th Jul to 4th Aug. The destinations would be Shenyang, Mt. Baekdu (aka Mt. Jangbai) and Yanji. :) Have any tips for me? :)

My Travel Tip

La vita e bella. Don't think too much, just pack your stuff and step out of the daily life. :) Venice- The most romantic city ever I've been. Kyoto- I love the atmosphere of Kyoto. Kyoto has something special that I can't describe.

Yes, Venice has to be expensive. I just hope that a bottle of water there isn’t as expensive as in Rome (with the money people buy a bottle of water in Italy I could buy 11 here where I live. No wonder I was shocked… but I also understand it… after all it’s Rome lol not some town in the northwest of Portugal:D). But Venice would (hopefully will) be totally worthy :D And, yes, Asia. It seems so fascinating, truly! I’ve never been there but I would gladly pack my things and leave in that direction right away :D well… to any direction, actually :D Oh, and I mentioned Aveiro because there’s a very good chance I’ll be studying there by the end of this year and I find some zones of the city mesmerising :) // Enjoy your every moment too! ;)

I don’t think I thanked you for the information you gave me concerning Italy. I apologise. I was terribly busy the too long period after my, unfortunately, too short visit to Italy. So, thank you! I really like reading about what people think of their journeys.

And I’m glad you enjoyed Lisboa and Porto (if you ever come to Portugal again do visit Aveiro! :D it’s considered the most beautiful city in Portugal, some call it the Venice of Portugal :D lol)

You were right. Tuscany is a-m-a-z-i-n-g. I really felt like I must go back (this because I had to leave :D, otherwise I could have stayed there).

Actually I ended up going to Pisa (too crowded, but stunning!) and then a quick visit at Rome. I realised how expensive things are in Rome! It was shocking! (I still haven’t recovered from the shock).

I still had the chance to be in the Vatican for a couple of minutes.

When I was planning what city I0d visit, I decided that Florence would have to be for another time. Unfortunately, I had little time there :( (the actual problem with time was that I was in a cruise in the Mediterranean with my parents and a couple of their friends, so we had just 3-6 hours to see something). I'll return anyway! :D

Wow, this is getting a little bit too long. I’ll stop rambling like a mad person.

Thank you, again. :)

Hello:) I read you’ve been to most of Europe. I’ll be in Italy two days [so little time, too many things *sighs*]. I’ll have the chance to visit Rome, Florence and Pisa. Have you been to any of these? If so, what did you think? :)I hope you can answer! ///Catarina

Yes, I'll be in Venice for Carnevale - should be a good one - it's the second time I've been for that. Might be very flooded though :( Astor Victoria is quite pleasant. Pimlico, the area it's in isn't dreadful. You get off the coach, round the corner, keeping the entrance to Victoria Station on your left and it's straight forward all the way on a fairly major road. It's probably easier than getting to any other hostel. When are you planning on coming?

Very wet here. Am back at the Generator - better this time. Where are you staying? I've still got a couple of weeks before Venice - Jan 30 - Feb 4.

Generator as a place seemed OK - I'll be going back so long as my next stay isn't so bad. Globetrotter is pleasant - you have your own light and curtain on your bunk - but this tends to mean noone talks - and it's usually very expensive unless you don't book until about a week before. Astor hostels have few beds per room size, Journeys hostels seem to squeeze in a lot - especially at Kings X.

I've done a review of my one night at the Generator. The place was good - but my experience wasn't great. I suspect it's a bit boisterous in summer

I'm staying one night in the generator next week - I'll let you know how it goes. London's not a cheap place to live. I tend to eat in Soho. There's cheap veggie oriental buffets, Beatroot on Berwick Street, Maoz on Old Compton Street, Red Veg on Dean Street are about as cheap as you can eat out in London (you may guess I'm veggie). London is good for seeing bands. I've never been to Ronnie Scotts though - has a very good reputation if that's your thing.

I do adore Venice - I've only been twice before but I always want to go there. I haven't tried a gondola yet - maybe this time. Seems so long away now

I should be back in Venice at the end of Jan - staying with friends nearby for a few days and then somewhere a bit more central. Apart from that I may be visiting a few places in the UK - so not that adventurous - hopefully I'll have gone a bit further afield by the end of 2008. Spending too much time working :( If you come to England try and make it summer unless you like rain - and even then I'm guaranteeing nothing ;)

Hey, a good Fado House: Parreirinha de Alfama (Adress: Beco do Espírito Santo 1) but all around the typical neighborhood of Alfama (close to the castel) there are many Fado houses. Once you arrive to Portalegre you have some few buses to Castelo de Vide and Marvão (or you can take a taxi). If you want to save time, choose Obidos, much closer to Lisbon kind of similar to Marvão and very nice... But we keep in touch... Let me know your schedule afterwards... Cheers

Ah and if it worth it to go to Castelo de vide and Marvão, well it depends how many days you will be in Portugal, if you already spot the good places close to Lisbon like Sintra and Óbidos, then it worth to go there, especially to Marvão. If you prefer "big" cities don't miss Porto... Best Regards

Hey Yeohwa
To go to Castelo de Vide and Marvão you better travel to the main closest city which is Portalegre (many buses from Lisbon) from there I'm sure you can get a lot of transports to get to the sites. However I'm getting more accurate info from a friend who is from the area and knows better. I'll get back to you with that info. Jazz -The most famous is Hot Clube in Praça Alegria nº 39., Speakeasy is also good but rather expensive: www.speakeasy-bar.com. In regards to Fado Houses I'll get back to you later with the best info. P.S. Don't miss Bairro Alto in Lisbon and let me know when you'll be here, if I'm in town I'll be pleased to show you around... Cheers
