Hi! Like Dana I can tell you that Frankfurt/Main is pretty safe. Most people are open minded and there are a lot of different cultures living here. Just be carefull walking around Münchner Strasse and Taunusstrasse near the Main-Station at night. Public transport is safe. This hint is not because of your colour. I won't go there too ;-).

Hi, thanks for your question. Will you go to Frankfurt/Main? I think it is safe there. Frankfurt/Oder is a bit more dangerous, but there are not so many nazis here in Germany. Surely, there sometimes are attacks, but I think to go to the US is even worse than to go to Germany. (Concerning that problem.) Don't go in the "dark" areas of Frankfurt, go to such places where many people are and in the case of being verbally attacked, just don't answer. Please be not afraid, most Germans are nice and open-minded. You just have some fools, but you will find them in every country, I suppose.
