well, i see that others have given some useful tips to you! I agree with them - 'Pulkvedim neviens neraksta' or 'Cuba' are nice places to go.
'Cuba' is kind of 'salsa bar', very popular in Riga, they play salsa, funk, light jazz, the place is quite small, though. Yepp, I just remembered that entrance is for 21 year olds and over... Too bad!
'Pulkevedim neviens neraksta' is bigger, with several rooms and they play various music styles. I'm not sure about their age limitation.
Riga is full of young people, it's not only the capital of LV, but also the economic, financial and cultural centre. Most of young people study in Riga and after completing studies stay here.

about snow in February - u can never know - maybe it will be snowing, maybe not... to the Baltic sea u can go by bus or train - its not far, but u definitely should go.

February could be quite harsh weather-wise. Up to -30 has been experienced during the last years so brace yourselves! :-) Clubwise, I'd recommend "Nobody writes to the Collonel" (Pulkvedim neviens neraksta), it's more of an alternative type of a club (well, used to be when I was young ;-), a bar + dance place called Kuba (both in old town) is also nice. You'll also find lots of "pop" clubs - pick up Riga This Week (free, most hotels have it, walk in and ask for one even if you're not staying there), it has a lot of info about where to go and stuff. I'd also recommend that you get out of the Old Town boundaries. Go to Berga Bazars (has some bars, and also some dancing on Fri-Sat nights), Sarkans (Red, also outside Old town, will be listed in the Riga This Week). good luck!

hey!! so, you want know about clubs. first - how old r u? ok, most of the clubs are in the city center - in old Riga or near, its not a problem to find some. about weather, in February its still quite cold. if u have more questions or need more advice, just ask me. Riga is very beautiful city, u will like it:)
