Thanks for getting back to me so quickly and with so much information. I never think about renting a car... (maybe because I just turned old enough to do it in the US)
Thanks for the info on the smaller cities in New Zealand... that's exactly what I wanted to hear.
I'll start researching and see what I come up with and probably be asking for your advice again.

Hello wanderlust. I am currently in the process of planning a trip to Aus/New Zealand and just wondered if you had any tips about the cheapest way to go about this. Also... once in New Zealand, do you have any advice on where I should go or any "must do's" Thanks so much!!
