Travel tip

Travel light but if you want to take a hairdryer (or anything else you just CAN'T do without), advice from Nike... JUST DO IT! The extra weight & space it takes up is negligable compared to the feeling you get when you look & feel your best.

About me

I'm 50, a Paramedic, live in Perth, Western Australia and I WAS a single, full-time Dad until my children grew up and left home. I discovered the wonderful world of backpacking in 2005 and I LOVE IT ! Met some wonderful people, saw some amazing sights and now I'm hooked.

Thanks for your note. The 92 guy DOES inspire me! And \"hooked\" would be just fine, thank you very much :) Well this is the thing. I have no clue where to go (I haven\'t gotten past planning Croatia yet!). And that\'s I guess mainly the reason I\'m contacting - it\'s such a huge place that I don\'t know what to see, where to start....you say most don\'t bother with Perth?? (sorry)....

Hi! Will be travelling to Australia for the first time in late Nov - early Dec and would love some tips, since 1) it\'s such a big place and 2) it\'s my first time ever doing a backpacking trip! Any advice on what to see, where to go, where not to go would be most appreciated! Glad to hear you love backpacking...I\'m terrified!!!!
