Hi Verrunka,
on my trip to USA Ive been to Los Angeles, San Francisco and Las Vegas. But you need a car to go to the interesting points. Los Angeles is quiet big and not so nice. Its interesting to see the Universal film studios, Venice Beach, Beverly Hills and Santa Monica. Nice is the way from LA to San Francisco along the Ocean. Here you will find some nice places like Carmel. San Francisco is very nice. The Golden Gate Park, the Golden Gate Bridge, Fishermans Wharf with Pier 39 (where you can see Sealions) and Ghirardellis (which is famous for icecream) are only some highlights. On the other side of the Golden Gate Bridge you have Sausalito with the houseboats.
Also Ive been to Grand Canyon. It lasts about five hours one way to go down and up. Before you can go down you must go to the Ranger station for registration. If you like to stay overnight at the Phantom ranch on the bottom of the Grand Canyon you have to book in advance because this house has not so many space. Maybe they have now an alternative accomodation on the bottom. The best way to see Las Vegas is to stay overnight. The food and rooms are not so expensive because the owner of the Casinos want that you spend much money for gambling. If you like entertainment shows its better to ask before in Europe for tickets because sometimes it could be difficult to get tickets for some shows.
And Verrunka take care in the night. Maybe you ask somebody at Hostelworld which is originally from the region for the security situation right now. If you have further questions let me know. Greetings Mario.
