Boston Pocket Guide

Images Of Boston

Steeped in history and small enough to explore in a day, Boston is one of America's most charming cities. This is the city that spawned America's first public park, its first public college and its first subway system. Funnily enough, it is America's oldest city too. But it's not all history. Socialising and sports are all pastimes of Bostonians, as is relaxing - one of Boston's finest attributes is its easy pace of life.

    Visiting Boston for a weekend

Great city. Visited the Fenway Park area and enjoyed going around Cambridge and the tourist spots. It was a nice spring weekend and there are nice places to bike and walk.

Insider Tip:Get the transit passes if you are going to use public transportation to move around. They are a little more pricey but worth for those moving around a lot

It was definately a good idea to go there-going on the freedom trail is a must! By following the line on the sidewalk you have a chance to see all the most important things there are to see in Boston so its really easy.

Amazing city! Nicest people on earth...

Just got back from 6 months in Brasil and Austin was my stop before Boston and I thought that Boston had literally the nicest people in the streets that I've met in any city. They are really want to help, it's kinda weird

Insider Tip:Go to the train station or the T and figure out what your looking for and it'll take you there. Don't catch taxis or buses, though there a tour on a trolly that's pretty cool...

    Boston, MA

We took a water taxi from Logan Airport to Boston, which was a great way to view Boston. Boston was a friendly city, the people are chatty and helpful. We found it easy to get around on foot or using various forms of public transport. The freedom trail offers a great chance to see the city as well as taking in a historic tour. Boston is great for sports fans, but if you can't get a ticket to watch any live games then make sure you get to at least one of the many sports bars in the city.

Insider Tip:Anyone going to a game at TD Gardens should know that you are not allowed to take bags into the venue. Small handbags may be allowed in following a security search but rucksacks etc are never allowed. Leave bags somewhere safe and take wallets, keys etc in your pocket instead - it's a hassle otherwise.

    Boston for the win!

I had a great time in Boston. Baseball, Cheers pub, markets, some of the yummiest pizza I've ever eaten in my life...how could I complain! Like a smaller, cuter New York.

Insider Tip:The hop on hop off bus tours are actually great value and you get to see pretty much everything in a short amount of time.
