Chicago Pocket Guide

Images Of Chicago

With its lake shore location, countless skyscrapers and bundance of iconic traits and characteristics, Chicago is one of the great American cities. Along with skyscrapers, the windy city (a nickname which has nothing to do with the weather incidentally) is famous for hot dogs, pizza, sports teams and more. It possesses a big city feel similar to that you'd find in New York, but boasts a landscape that's far more open than its east coast counterpart. One minute you're in the middle of a thriving city when walking down Michigan Avenue, while the next you're enjoying some peace and quiet overlooking Lake Michigan. Even though it's not as accessible as other North American cities, it's ultimately worth the effort to get to as Chicago is unlike any other city in the country.

It has a lot of variety

You can really see the best of Chicago, by staying close to the lakeshore. Unless you have a car, then maybe visiting some of the northern suburbs may be interesting, As far as living a Luxe lifestyle.

Insider Tip:Melrose Place is a great neighborhood restaurant. Serving American cuisine. Order a Club sandwich and soup of the day, its quite a meal.

Chicago is by far one of the best cities I've visited yet! I've been over 3 continents and over 100 cities and 30 countries. This is by far one of the most amazing for: food; people; location; weather; culture; theatre... I could go on. You could say that these are all great about NYC aswell, but the difference, I find, is that Chicago is cleaner, less busy but still has that gorgeous big city vibe but without all the GOGOGO attitude and it has personality. I'll be coming back for sure.

Insider Tip:Avoid the subways during rush hour ;) Try planning a bit before or a bit after, for whatever your destination purpose may be (dinner, lunch etc).
