    Cologne (Köln)

I was only here for one day, just passing through, but I did walk around the city a bit. It was very nice and pretty (and green!) and the people seemed very friendly. I also went to the Kölnisch Museum where the docent gave me a free tour because she wasn't very busy that day, so that was fun :)

i was visiting cologne at easter so it was really busy. Nice and lively city as well as great public transport. 1 euro for a pint of beer. It was totally a good place to drink.

Insider Tip:Try the local's food i.e bratwurst, currywurst as well as the pretzel nougat. Cheap and nice..

    Awesome city

There are bus and metro services, the city centre is huge and you can find different atmospheres. The views from the bridges and cathedral tower are amazing. You can get local food for a reasonable price. I found an excellent free tour very interesting (in English), you can walk for hours and hours, there are parks at both sides of the river. The "crane buildings" area is nice. Plenty of shopping areas for buying anything and museums to go. You'll find interesting architecture.

Insider Tip:Go to both sides of the river. For partying go to AlterMarkt and along Hohenzollernring. Cheap local food, beer and restaurants by the other side of the river, opposite the old city centre, between Hohenzollernbrücke and Deutzer Brücke, good sights from there as well.

A top city to visit in Germany

The Cathedral itself is enough reason to make a stop in the city. I walked around and looked at the other stuff and it was alright. As a traveler nothing is outstandingly spectacular, but if you don't get to travel then the sites should all be pretty cool. Have a few glasses of the local Kolsch bier. If you are a traveler this city looks like it has a pretty good nightlife, I didn't get to go out in it, but I'm positive it does. There's a lot of diversity and it's pretty busy. 2 days is fine.
