Los Angeles Pocket Guide

Images Of Los Angeles

Loved and loathed in equal measures, Los Angeles is a sprawling metropolis and one of the most diverse cities in the world. Over a few days one can experience the tackiness of Hollywood, meet the eclectic characters of Venice Beach and marvel at the rich and famous in Beverly Hills. Life in this West Coast city is slightly more relaxed than that on the East, and the neighbourhoods are the attractions. Theme parks abound and the LA nightlife is legendary. So whether you end up loving it or loathing it after your visit, you certainly won't be forgetting it in a hurry.

    Sport, shopping and beer!

LA is so big so it's so hard ta have a opinion about it. Hollywood is cool to see for a day or two. Hermosa beach is a more relaxed beach 2h from the down town by bus. I hate the distance but I love Hermosa!

Insider Tip:The Cheesecake Factory in Redondo beach is so nice situated in the harbour, go there!

    LA

Ok for a visit. Hollwood Boulevard a bit tacky and a lot of homeless people / addicts sleeping on the sidewalk. Venice Beach and Santa Monica well worth a visit and a bit of a highlight really. Buses are the way to travel. Train is alright too but buses cover most everything.

Insider Tip:If you feel for a spot of shopping then visit The Grove shopping centre. You can take a bus from Hollywood Boulevard and has some nice outdoor space to relax, eat and drink between shops. So much cheaper than UK! Also, don't be fooled by the size of the blocks - They are huge and 1 block alone will take 10-15 minutes to walk the length of.

    LA IS OVER HYPED!

LA isnt the safest place to be, seems like every street corner has a gang member on it, you would think that hollywood is a nice place, but no your wrong, would never go back to LA, the only nice place to go is universal and city walk, recommend renting a car to get arround to avoid all the local nutcases on the public transport systems and streets.

    Insider Tip:Get a car
