Images Of Milan

Slick, sleek and uber-cool, Milan is one of the most stylish cities in the world. Lavish designer stores abound endless streets while just as lavish bags loaded with the latest 'must-have' items hang from endless shoppers' arms. Milan also has some of Italy's most breathtaking cathedrals, making it a perfect destination for sightseeing as well as shopping. Once all shopping and sightseeing is done, visitors can enjoy free snacks during 'aperitivo time' before ending the day in Navigli, Milan's coolest quarter.

    Plain ole' cheap bed.

You can't complain too much for the price. But for the price I would expect to be a little closer to a metro and at least have bread breakfast.

    Shopaholic Heaven

With a few tourist spots and sight-seeing areas, Milan is a great stop-off for avid travellers, but perhaps not ideal for a long stay. The Duomo and surrounding square are definitely worth a visit - paying 8 euros to walk the steps to the top of the duomo is worth every penny for breathtaking views accross the city! However, the city is mainly a hub for shopping and up-market brands and is therefore most ideal for someone looking for a short break with a bit of pampering!

Insider Tip:Visit for two nights on a tour of Italy and take a picnic up to the roof of the Duomo.

    My visit to Milan, Italy

Milan is a city like environment, I wasn't there long enough to explore. However, I do like that it hosted the 2015 expo which was fantastic in my opinion. Milan I believe has character, it is known for it's fashion shows and the famous painting of the last supper. Also the railroad station is convenient to get to and is nice looking.

Insider Tip:If there is an event or you want to explore Milan, I would say go.

    Concerning Milan

There seems to be a prevalent snobby, materialistic, vain culture in the parts of Milan I have seen. The historical centre is very picturesque but once you venture a little more outward Milan becomes very industrial and, figuratively, cold. I think Milan is basically a business/shopping city and not one really set up for travellers.

Insider Tip:Go to Florence, Bologna, Cinque Terra or Lucca instead!
