Stop over.. one night only
Perth was beautiful to me this time.. went for a spectacular run up Scarborough beach watching the surfers do their thing.
Insider Tip:Plan to watch the sun set over the ocean.. just magic!
Western Australia's key city is famous for many reasons. It's the state's capital, it's the gateway to Australia's breathtaking west coast, and it's the most remote city in the world. This doesn't mean there's nothing to do though. Perth has one of Australia's most instantly recognisable skylines, a climate other cities can only dream of, a host of beautiful beaches and enough bars, restaurants and cafés to keep all walks of life occupied for the duration of their stay.

If you go for the first time in Australia, or if you make an holiday to see all around Australia, i think you can stay in Perth not more than four days. Perth is a nice town, but not so nice and less fun than others ( Sydney, Adelaide, Melbourne, Brisbane ). It is very nice to go by train around Perth ( I love Cottesloe!! )
I lived in Perth for 4 months as a student and loved every minute of it. Lots of people say that there isn't much to do in Perth but it depends on what you enjoy doing. The nighlife is not like some other australian cities ie Melbourne but theres lots of outdoor stuff to do; surfing, hiking, water skiing, canoeing, climbing etc. Also the beaches are beautiful and the people are friendly. And the weather is great most of the time. HOWEVER Perth is one of the most expensive places in the world!
Insider Tip:If you want food in the middle of the night everywhere but Fast Eddy's will be shut, its a 24 hour diner, great food nice atmosphere. If you go to Perth you have to visit Kings Park, its really beautiful. Also visit Caversham Wildlife Park, you can cuddle the roos. If you rent a car you can explore further afield, drive down to Margaret River (3 hours south of perth) for amazing beaches and wineries.
Really was my home away from home and could be again soon. Big enough to have everything and small enough to be personal and friendly. So many friends have now also made it their home. Yet to meet anyone who doesn't love it here!
Insider Tip:Use the free CAT (blue, yellow and red) buses to find your way around initially or to just hop on for the air con to cool down on the sweltering hot summer days! :)
Perth is a nice city if you're staying just for a few days. Is better as a central point to take tours to south or north of WA.
