Stockholm Pocket Guide

Images Of Stockholm

Built on 14 distinguishable islands, Stockholm is one of the few capitals in the world that affords visitors the opportunity to go island-hopping on a short break. Each of the Swedish capital's islands has its own attribute. Gamla Stan is one of the most charming old towns in Europe, Djurgården is at the forefront of the game in terms of museums, while Södermalm is where the Swedish capital's notoriously stylish offspring party into the early hours every weekend.

Nice city to visit for a day or two.

I am a single traveller that was Interalilng around Europe. I heard that Stockholm was a nice place to visit which it was, however, I did find if your on a budget it can be a little boring and very pricey. I also found that you could see the centre of it all in one day and I didn't feel that it offered as much as other European cities that I visited.

Insider Tip:Buy a 72 hour travel card even if you're travelling for 48 as they don't provide a 48 hour one. The next one below is a 24 hour one, however, works out better value for money with the 72 hour one.

I've always liked Stockholm, especially the Old Town, so I'd definitely recommend visiting the capital of Sweden.

    Great City!

Spending a Weekend in Stockholm is great! Being that there are not many tourist attractions, a weekend is all you need to see the Old City and get a general feel of Stockholm. We had a great time, and felt really safe, even when it was late, and really dark out.

Insider Tip:Get a map as soon as you arrive, I spent a lot of time lost! But I still enjoyed it, and everything I saw!

    Gorgeous city! Great people!!

So far, one of the best cities I visited in Europe. Safe city, friendly people, everybody speak english fluently (really, EVERYBODY!!). You can rent a bike and ride all over the city (there are bike lanes for that) or walk. Both are pleasant. The museums are wonderful (Vasa Museum is one of the best I've ever been. Fotografiska too). As I told to people I visited there: "Stockholm is a cold place with warm people". I would live there. I hope I'll visit again.

Insider Tip:Vasa museum. City bike system. Fotografiska museum.

    Worth the Visit

It's expensive, and you will need to deal with the cold a bit outside of the summer months. However, the city is truly impressive. From he subways to museums to nightlife, there's just a lot to do.
