Stockholm Pocket Guide

Images Of Stockholm

Built on 14 distinguishable islands, Stockholm is one of the few capitals in the world that affords visitors the opportunity to go island-hopping on a short break. Each of the Swedish capital's islands has its own attribute. Gamla Stan is one of the most charming old towns in Europe, Djurgården is at the forefront of the game in terms of museums, while Södermalm is where the Swedish capital's notoriously stylish offspring party into the early hours every weekend.

    Stockholm - Awesome City

It's a beautiful city with everything you'd want. Very modern lifestyle, but maintains the historical/cultural sites and monuments. Beautiful people (also friendly & fluent in English if you don't know Swedish). There are natural parks and islands to visit. Since Stockholm is basically several "islands" connected by bridges, there are sailboats everywhere...which I really like. It's get dark around 11pm and light around 2-3am!

Insider Tip:Go to the djurgardens. It's stunningly beautiful. There's also an amusement park and a zoo there. Walk or bike. Everything is pretty close to each other.

Pretty awesome place. I was there for 3 days, but I wish I had at least 2 more. Gamla Stan (the old town) is amazing, you can easily spend a day there, although there are tons of crowds. There are great views almost everywhere. It rained when I was there so bring an umbrella!

Insider Tip:Skip Skansen if you are not a fan of Renaissance fairs or zoos. Its basically an outdoor park of olden Sweden, which is how it advertises itself, but if you travel all the way to Sweden as a tourist it is not worth checking out. The Vasa museum was pretty interesting though. I would explore the island just south in depth as well, as there is a great shopping district as well as many bars and clubs, and virtually no tourists. It is the place to go if you want to see Stockholm as the locals live it.

    Beautiful, expensive, windy city

Amazing city, definitely go! But be warned; it is expensive. There are a lot of islands in the city, so be prepared for a lot of wind and walking. But it is gorgeous. Despite the winter cold, it was sunny and beautiful the whole time I was there. And the Vasa museum was incredible!

Insider Tip:Consider eating at a restaurant for lunch-- there are a lot of good deals until 2pm. Book a hostel that has a guest kitchen available, and cook for all later meals to save some money. ICA was a great less expensive supermarket

    Stockholm Review

Stockholm is a very nice and beautiful city. It is a fun city and also if you're interested you get to have some history and culture as weel. I recommend the Vasa Museum and the Nordiska Museum, very nice. Also, if you can go to Skansen, a open air museum with houses from the previous ceturies. We also went to the Grone Lund, a fun park where we had a lot of fun! And we took a river boat, really nice!

Stockholm is one of the most beautiful cities that i've ever been!

Don't miss Gamla Stan, Djurgarden, Absolut Ice Bar and the sunset near water!! Don't be intimidate by the swedish people. They don't know how to party without becoming drunk!

Insider Tip:Buy a transport ticket for 3 or more days, depending of how much time you be there! The single tickets are too expensive!!! Or, if you prefer, take good and confortable shoes and walk!!!
