Surfers Paradise Pocket Guide

Images Of Surfers Paradise

It's gaudy, it's flashy, it's loud and it's exhausting, but above all it's great fun in the sun. This is what makes Surfer's Paradise a hugely popular stop-off backpackers exploring the east coast of Australia. Part of the country's breathtaking Gold Coast, Surfer's is party central and Australia's most popular holiday destination thanks to its seemingly never ending beaches, glorious weather, great shopping, world-class theme parks and nightlife to rival any other city in the country.

    Surfers paradise

Surfers Paradise is like Miami. Tones of expensive stuff to do and very gimmicky. The surfing is really bad and there isn't that much to do that is free. I would probably try to avoid this place if backpacking unless you want to do a night club crawl.

    Surfer Paradise

I was here for 3 days, mainly came here for the beach and surfing, ended up also went for the whale watch too! I ain't that into theme parks hence didn't go to anything! Did a bit of shopping at the mall bought a few surfing gears! Also I went up to the tower for a clear view of Gold Coast!!! That was awesome! Also, the night market alongside the beach was awesome!

Insider Tip:Bring extra of cash, I ended up doing quite a bit of shopping!

    SurfersParadise - Amazing Skyline

Good for partying, beaches and shopping. Not as relaxing as other places on the eastcoast. Definitely go outside the centre area and better go to nicer and less touristy areas closeby

Small Community in a Big City

I'm not a huge fan of Surfers Paradise and its "mini-Vegas" feel. It's ok as cities go, but I'm a small town girl, and I like to sleep without sirens. It's a great party city, catering more to the 18-22 crowd than anything else, and since I'm no longer in that category, it just doesn't have much appeal for me. The beaches are huge, but kind of crowded, but it's a very clean, well taken care of city, and there's a lot of touristy things to do, and great shopping.

Insider Tip:Don't fall for the pub crawl deals, they're a waste of time and money. There are hostess girls that can get girls into Sin City for free drinks on the weekends, look for them near the doors around 11:30, they are usually trying to find girls at that time. Beer Garden is busiest on Tuesday nights, and a nice chill place to hang as far as clubs go. There are a bunch of little Irish pubs that are awesome, and Waxy's is the best on Sunday and Monday, $2 steak and cheap beer. Don't forget to go upstairs.
