Hostelworld.com will be taking part in the annual Airline Profitability Conference "CILA" in Buenos Aires on 6th & 7th May. The conference will examine how airlines throughout Latin America can increase commercial profitability through additional ancillary revenue streams.
Hostelworld.com's Business Development Manager for South American Itziar Gonzalez will be taking an active part in the conference. Itziar is part of a panel that will discuss the Hostelworld.com affiliate program on "What airlines can sell for a profit" and will then go on to take part in the "Wolf's Den", an exercise based on the television program "Dragons Den". Itziar will be one of the entrepreneurs who will present to the panel of "wolves" on the success of Hostelworld.com's affiliate program with many of the worlds leading brands, paying particular attention to the success of this program across a number of prominent airline partners throughout the world including Aerolineas Argentinas, Ryanair, Air Asia and Virgin Blue.
Itziar commented that "Hostelworld.com's product is unique to any other online aggregator, carrying independent, unrated and one star hotels in addition to hostels and B&B's, thereby enabling airlines to cater not only to backpackers and students but also to a wider market with our B&B product counting for a substantial share of our airline partner bookings. Many airlines realise that the hostel customer of today is the hotel customer of the future so they have the added advantage of retaining customers throughout their life cycle of travel. A perfect fit for a low cost airline partner".
Gonzalez continued "We're delighted to be taking part in this conference as it gives us the opportunity to showcase how important our brand and our niche yet lucrative product are to the airline industry to help them increase their ancillary revenue".
