40 Berkeley Hostel

40 Berkeley was our only option for a private room during the specific dates and while our stay ended up being significantly cheaper than what it would have been at a hotel, we felt that it was overpriced. $56 per person/night is a lot to pay to sleep in a run down dorm with old, equally run down bathroom facilities. Breakfast is good though, as is the location.

Great price and great location. A little weird that the staff leaves at night, but the place wasn't full of party people or anything so we never felt unsafe. Wifi wasn't the best even though our room was close to the reception, but who goes to Italy to spend time online anyway?

My friend and I both enjoyed our stay at Hostel Pisa; it's cheap, conveniently located and clean. Great take out pizza is just around the corner and the city center isn't too far away. I would stay there again if I for some reason felt the urge to see the tower twice (as cool as it is, you don't).

The staff is great, very helpful. Location is also great if you're looking for something close to the train station. My only complaint would be the thin walls; we stayed in one of the rooms by the lobby and might as well just have been sleeping IN the lobby. Nothing earplugs wouldn't have fixed though (note to self: always carry some in your backpack).
