Community Hostel, Quito, Ecuador
9.1
6th Oct 2013

This was probably the cleanest hostel we stayed in South America, and we usually only stay in the top rated hostels. The staff make this place so awesome. They cook you an amazing breakfast for only $2.50 - and sing while they cook! There are daily walking tours, communal dinners and activities almost every night where you can get the chance to meet people. I recommend you stay here!

This hostel has its own bar and free pool table so there were pool competitions going on every night and the free dinners made it a great place to mingle with other travellers. While not all staff are helpful, those who are really go out of their way to make sure your stay is as best it can be. There are dogs roaming aroumd the common area at this hostel - I'm not really a dog person so this made me a bit uncomfortable but they were friendly dogs. This is a great hostel to socialise

Quechuas Backpackers, Puno, Peru

This is a great place to stay for good service and a nice clean room. Puno in itself is pretty boring so that's probably why this hostel has a boring vibe to it. It's more of a 3 star hotel than a hostel. The staff are great and have good recommendations. We got upgraded to a private room as they had availability. This hostel is in a great location and all the locals know it.

This hostel is beautiful. Staying here makes you feel like you are really on an exotic holiday. The six bed dorm is really small but the private room is beyond amazing and worth the extra dollars! We booked a horse riding tour organised by the hostel which was one of the best experiences we had in Peru and great value for money. The hostel also has a tour desk - do not use this. We booked a lake Titicaca tour and it was really bad. Hostel has a great atmosphere, awesome bar and is lots of fun
