1 River Central

Manila, Philippines

Four bed dorms, individual lockers and curtains for privacy, breakfast included, air con, good wifi and a nice roof top area with kitchen. Great value for Manila.

OMG House

Puerto Princesa City, Philippines

Amazing staff, great location and atmosphere, basic and good value. Making improvements all the time. Would recommend.

Our Melting Pot El Nido

El Nido, Philippines

This is nothing like the branch in Manila. One of the 3 worst hostels in my 9 months of backpacking so far. To cram 10 bunks in a 4x4M room is crazy especially when there are no lockers or places to store things and when electricity goes off in El Nido daily leaving such a cramped room impossible to sleep in. I moved after two days to my own room at a great guest house closer to the beach WAY cheaper. Avoid. Rip off. Don't need to visit the hanging coffins in PHP you can sleep in them here!

OMG House

Puerto Princesa City, Philippines

Well located close to the airport and bars and places to eat. The staff here are amazing and so helpful. Basic but great value and a good place to meet other travellers.

Bohol Coco Farm

Panglao Island, Philippines

The family at Bohol coco farm are amazing and the farm itself is beautiful and peaceful. It's a ten minute walk to a quiet and stunning beach or a short trycicle ride into Alona resort. I stayed here for ten days and didn't want to leave. Great value with a big breakfast included as well as tea, coffee and water all day and really tasty food from the farm served all day. One of the best experiences I've had in the Philippines.

Woodland Beach Resort

Donsol, Philippines

One of the best dorms I've ever stayed in. 3 per room each with double bed, reading light, big lockable cupboard, desk space and chair. On suite bathrooms with hot water, sea view and fans. Food and pool are great, right on the beach and a short walk to the dive centre. The staff are incredible, especially Owen! Can't recommend this place enough. It's a gem

Banjos Backpackers

Perth, Australia

Really clean hostel and great facilities and communal areas. Only two things that need improving: Wifi is slow and unusable in many areas There were often times all bathrooms were closed off for cleaning at the same time which created problems Closing the kitchen 1-2pm is stupid as this is lunch time

Thanks for the constructive feedback Victoria. Thankfully you have pointed out a couple of things that should not be happening the way they were. I have informed the cleaners to make sure they leave the unisex bathroom open when the others are being cleaned and also that even though we state the kitchen is closed between 1pm-2pm it is actually only closed 1.40pm-2pm to mop the floor quickly. I agree with you that these two things happening the way they did were pretty stupid! Safe Travels

Adelaide Travellers Inn

Adelaide, Australia

Really liked this place but it's out of the centre and away from the beach. Great communal spaces. Lockers would be good. Needs air con! Staff were lovely

Annie's Place

Alice Springs, Australia

Loved the communal areas, atmosphere and outdoor spaces. No lockers or wifi in rooms though and bar was expensive and confusing. Charged different prices for the same drinks orders.

Corona Backpackers

Cairns, Australia

Really clean, great staff, comfy 4 bed dorms with air con, central location. Stayed 4 nights and would stay again.

Aussie Woolshed

Hervey Bay, Australia

Really liked this place but both of us found it impossible to sleep in the dorm because it was just too hot. The fan did nothing and air con is really needed. Otherwise a great hostel with a chilled atmosphere and nice staff.

Thanks for your Feedback. The dorm you stayed in is called the budget dorm, it only costs $22 has no added extras and suits the traveller on a tight budget. We do offer a deluxe dorm for $25 which has an aircon option for an extra $5 per night, cost is split between the people in the room. Travellers are not aware that our power bill has gone up at least an extra $2000 per year. We could put the rates up for everyone to cover this but we choose to have a user pays system.

Aussie Way Hostel

Brisbane, Australia

Really liked this hostel and it's lay out and facilities but the staff could have been far far friendlier! Also there were signs and notices everywhere with rule after rule. I know its important to keep things running smoothly but it was a bit OTT and made me feel like I was back at school. Otherwise a great place. Easy to get to from the bus station and the pool is great in hot weather.

Backpackers Holiday Village

Byron Bay, Australia

Very expensive due to the time of year! Central location, nice staff, cool cabins but needed more stuff in the kitchens and for the price should have air con.

Landing Pads Brunswick

Melbourne, Australia

This place is a gem. It's out of the CBD but Brunswick is fantastic and you can catch the tram by the hostel to the CBD in 25 minutes. This place is for longer term backpackers so you get to know everyone. It's not a wild party hostel but there is plenty going on if you want to be social but it's quiet enough to chill too. I booked in for a week and have ended up staying for nearly 3 months. It's a home away from home. Only suggestion to improve would be an additional cooker in the kitchen.

Bluewater Lodge

Nadi, Fiji

Nice staff but no lockers, wifi poor and food on site was good but expensive. Very quiet hostel compared to others just across the road. With a few improvements this place could be great!

Staff got average as an even out. The female on nights was so rude and unhelpful. Pointed out the wifi wasn't working and she insisted it was my phone and ranted on about it. Turned out no one could get wifi and it was the hostels issue-the blonde girl on the following morning was really helpful and acknowledged the issue. Been travelling in the US for two months using hostels. This was our least favourite of the lot due to rude staff member, big cockroaches and poor air con. Go elsewhere

Music City Hostel

Nashville, USA

Great common area, clean and staff were really helpful. The only negatives were that the top bunks did not have rails so if you move around lots like me you will end up on the floor and the showers were terrible due to the worst water pressure I've ever experienced in a hostel. Hair washing takes a long time ladies. Otherwise this place is great.

Duo Housing DC

Washington DC, USA

This hostel was clean and felt safe and secure. The staff were amazing and the outdoor terraces were great. Only downsides were that the showers were so hot it was difficult to shower and 12 bedded rooms can get noisy when the bunks are so squeaky every time someone moves but overall this was a great hostel.
