All staff I met (i.e. receptionist and barman) were very friendly and attentive. I really enjoyed the atmosphere in the bar; it's a great location to mingle with your fellow travellers. Replacing a couple of parking spots by a lockable bike shed would be great.
Wish the staff would care as much for the rest of the hostel as for the bar. This hostel has a a lot of potential, but many areas are in need of a refurbishment.
The hostel is decent, but the atmosphere and the bar could be improved. It's quite far from the city centre, and often filled with groups.
The hostel has a nice location right in the historic centre of the city. Although the fun factor could be improved, e.g. by adding a bar to the hostel or by organising pubcrawls, note that this hostel's fun factor is already way higher than that of the YHI-one.
This is the most boring hostel I've ever been to. It obviously aims at families and groups, rather than (single) people travelling around. To cater to these groups they provide (bad) evening meals at an acceptable price; no guest kitchen. Moreover, it is expensive. This hostel could be vastly improved by the following: daily campfire with beer/... to meet your fellow travellers (cf. the tent in Munich), activities (pub crawl,...), more tourist info (cf. Hotel Glocke), less cleaning to cut costs
Since the hostel is quite large, I would really have appreciated some more organised activities for single travellers.
